Good soundtrack yes. I wasn't as impressed with the movie as I hoped to be though. Still not a bad watch though. |

I really didn't have very high expectations, so I was probably more surprised than anything. All in all, Ellen Page got the job done. I'd probably watch it again. |

To quote sirbri, meh. 6 out of 10. I actually was expecting something and felt deflated. If you haven't seen it, check out Lars and the Real Girl. IMO it's a better chick flick that Juno, one that both of you can enjoy. BTW, rent the Killpoint series DVDs if you get a chance. It was a spike TV series I'd never heard of. Two disc CD set, runs about 6 hours. The ending is kind of flat, but everything else is really good. |

I thought Lars and the Real Girl was pretty boring. I don't think it even made me chuckle. As for Juno, I thought it was mediocre. I'd rate it about 6 as well, but Lars and Real girl would get a 4.5 from me. What's Killpoint about? |

I really liked it actually, plus it was one of the if not the first movie I rented with my girlfriend so it kind of has a special place in that way with me. Its great though. |

I laughed my ass off. The comedy was quick and sharp, you had to stay on your toes. It actually won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned three other Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Ellen Page. I thought she was brilliant. |

Oh yeah it was incredibly quick and witty. The girl was great and as you mentioned before the music was really good too. |

The word refreshing comes to mind when I think about Juno. It was nice to see something original and different when we are so accustomed to the same plot with a different context over and over again in movies these days. I agree with Jazen at 8.5/10 |

Juno trailer for the curious. From the movie soundtrack, the song "Anyone Else But You" by The Moldy Peaches Not much singing talent, but the soundtrack definitely had originality, and blended perfectly with the film. Edited by Jazen, Aug 22 2008, 09:39 AM.

Juno was a big hit with Mrs. Phil, but I wasn't really blown away by it. I did like the realistic approach to teen pregnancy that didn't involve an automatic "well, let's get an abortion" sort of a decision. It was good, not great, by my perspective. The soundtrack did match the movie's quirkiness, though it did make my ears bleed. I think I'm just turning into an old man (at 23?), because when I was in high school or even early college I would have really liked the music. Belle and Sebastian made a welcomed surprise on the soundtrack though. They're one of my favorite bands, I was really pleased with that decision. Overall, I'd say 7/10. |

I was more surprised than blown away, hence my 8.5 rating. I can honestly say I didn't know where this one was going until the end. I thought the twist (realistic approach) was original and welcome, and the soundtrack, although clunky, was fantastically perfect for the film. I've never been one to be in awe of explosive action films, I'm more drawn to quiet movies with quality acting. I just saw An American Crime (true story based in Indiana in the 1960's) starring Ellen Page, and let me tell you, this girl is the real deal. If anyone has any doubt, check out one of her first films, Hard Candy, a film about a mature 14-year old girl that meets a charming 32-year old photographer on the Internet, goes to his house suspecting he is a pedophile, and unleashes some horrific revenge on him. It's one you won't forget very quikcly. Posted Image I truly haven't seen anything she hasn't done well. |

That sounds pretty disturbing to me...but good acting is good acting I suppose. I'll have to check it out. |
