Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

bird, magic, mj. the defense rests.
That was a past their prime Bird and Magic though. Still good players, but not what they were at the height of their powers.

The '92 team still wins because of Jordan and their inside players. Barkley, Malone, Ewing, and Robinson is just a disgusting 4 man rotation at the 4-5.
That past their prime Bird and Magic averaged (Bird) 20.2 pts & 9.6 rbs and (Magic) 19.4 pts, 7 rbs, & 12.5 ast per game the season before the Olympics. Yes they were past their prime but, not "WAY" past like you said. Splitting hairs? Maybe, but they were still All Star caliber players.

Bird and MJ were definitely beyond their prime, but Bird could still shoot the ball. I'm not sure that anyone on this team would be good at defending his height and touch from three. Not to mention that they both could still read a defense ridiculously well. They may not have been able to drive the lane by this team, but they probably wouldn't have to because they'd find the open man.

I totally agree. Magic Johnson was 33 at the time and Bird was 36. Even at that point in their careers, I'd love to have seen anyone on this '08 team try to guard either one of them.

Johnson could make you flat out look stupid.

92' without question. There is one thing that this team doesn't have that the other did and that it's the same reason that I don't think Kobe will ever be as good as Jordan and that is a will to win. There were times where Jordan would just simply refuse to lose and I've never seen it out of any athlete since.
I also think that the 92 team would win but I think it is dumb to say that this years team doesn't have the will to win. If you are maybe saying that Jordan is the most competitive player to play the game then I agree, but if you think this 08 team doesn't have the will to win then you are crazy.
I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that Jordan takes it to a different level that no one can match. Kind of like if Tiger needs a putt in a major to force a playoff or the such....it's almost guaranteed within reason. Likewise, if Jordan had to win a a game, when didn't he deliver.

One of my favorite quotes of all time was after Kobe scored 81 or whatever, they asked Jordan what he thought about it. He said something to the like of, I guarantee if i was guarding him, he wouldn't of had that many. Like him or hate him, Jordan in the most competitive athlete I've ever seen and had a will to win games that was absolutely unbelievable.

I thought that was what you meant but was just makin sure. I totally agree that MJ's competitiveness was a on a whole different level than anyone that has ever played the game.

I also say 1992 , but I still think that Isiah Thomas and Dominique Wilkins should have been on that team.

No surprise that USA wins the gold, but it wasn't pretty. I was up early this morning and watched this game, and the defense was awful. Not sure if it was fatigue or just the fact that they figured they could cruise through it. I really don't know and I don't care, it's nice to get this "trophy" back where it belongs.

Congrats to the 2008 team.

Agreed congrats, then again as I've previously stated, this team had NO excuse for not getting gold.

Anybody else stay up till 4am to watch it live? :D Gosh the Spaniards kept in it.. they've got some pretty flashy guards that surprised me, one that was only 17 I believe!

Fun to watch. I get goosebumps watching the medal ceremonies and National Anthem... I wonder how the athletes don't just lose it after all that hard work. I'd probably tear up, I won't lie haha.

92, not even a contest! Spain nearly got us yesterday. The 92 team was probably the best team in any sport in history to play together. The whole team could end up in the HOF.

Hands down '92 team. There will only be one Dream Team. But I definetly believe that the '08 team urned the name as the Redeem Team.

...i'm extremely late to this one, so excuse me if i'm repeating anyone... but i gotta say that without a doubt #1 is the 1992 Dream Team with the 2008 Redeem Team a distant #2...

...the dream team had, arguably, the greatest players all time at each position...the redeem team just had a roster full of really good players at their position...to me it is no question...

...there is no question that these are the TWO greatest basketball teams EVER ASSEMBLED...
