Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

In the aftermath of his coaching debacle with the New York Knicks, Isiah Thomas is apparently back in the fold in Bloomington helping to rebuild the program he once led to a national championship. Via a tipster, here’s a link to Isiah hamming it up with Christian Watford, who attended the Elite Camp this weekend and is considering the Hoosiers, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis and Alabama. headbang2

From all indications, this past weekend was an excellent first step in putting some of the pieces of a fractured program back together. The Elite Camp yielded a commitment from 2011 guard Matt Carlino, several former players (D.J. White, Brian Evans and Thomas) helped work the camp and the day ended Saturday with a dinner in French Lick in an effort to reunite former players. Even though all former players and coaches were invited, Bobby Knight and Kelvin Sampson apparently forgot to RSVP.

Does that mean that Isiah just NOW realizes he was a horrible NBA coach? 0.o

With the incidents involving Isiah in New York, is this a good thing or bad thing? yernuts

I think it helps to have someone with NBA/IU ties affiliated with the program, but some of the things he was involved with really made him look bad. Just a question that I would like to see others opinions on. I am on the fence with this. Please comment if you have an opinion.

I think it is a mostly a good thing. He was a terrible coach and GM, but hey, guys like Bird and Jordan haven't exactly lit the world on fire. Anytime a kid comes to IU and ends up being coached by one of the top 50 nba players of all time, it has that wow factor.

I also think it's very important not to discriminate on the "brining back all IU athletes". All the former players need to have a permanent, open invitation to become close with this program again. If you don't let Isaih back, then maybe you don't let Knight back, ya know? Can't have that type of thing go on here.

he definitely sucked as a gm/coach, but you gotta love this. it's starting to feel like the school is beginning to recognize its own tradition. they've ignored it for far too long.

Good points Dreach and Bri. I really like the fact the ex-IU players are rallying around Crean and coming back to support the program. They wouldn't do that under Sampscum. I even heard that Kitchell has been sited or is starting to come back to the program. Way to go Crean.

I think most folks still see Isiah as a basketball player first...and that's what they remember. I know I do! I'm stoked!!!
