Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Bob, I will try to find that article. I looked today at lunch, but wasn't successful. I do remember reading it, but can't remember which article I read that information.

There is no doubt that this is a very good class, I don't think its shocking to anyone, and I don't think any Purdue poster has said otherwise. Elston and Hulls were both players that I would have loved to have had at Purdue, and Creek is a very very good player, probably the best of the bunch.

Congrats on the good class, can't wait to see what happens on the floor over the next few years.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I think Purdue has a chance to run with the Big Ten this year unless they fall apart. I still however think IU has a good chance to surprise some teams as a spoiler...

You might have a shot at spoiling Northwesterns run to finish 10th. :P

I think we'll land middle of the pack come Big Ten Tourney time. My guess 5th maybe 6th.

That is one hell of a bold prediction, but Lars is being very insulting. I am surprised UB doesn't chime on this one. We may win more than 10 games, but to finish middle of the pack might be a little to high, but we will surprise teams and finish higher than Lars prediction.

I'll agree with that. I think thats about the best we can hope for this season: upset a few teams. I'm going to enjoy every second of this season because for the first time in a long time I have the satisfaction of knowing I can feel good about IU basketball.

Its going to be a tough season for IU, no doubt. The early schedule has some tough games, and with the inexperience and lack of depth, its very hard to predict something like finishing in the upper half of a tough conference. I mean, there isn't a player on this team that has ever played a Division 1 game, there is no way to predict how these guys will be. Maybe they surprise, but if you have to predict the season right now, its hard to think IU will finish anywhere above 9th or 10th.

Now, come mid-January, things may be different, as they were for Purdue last season after they lost at home to Wofford and then a month or so later are beating a top 10-15 team in the hardest arena to win at in the league the past 5 or 6 years.

I'm not sure about 9th or 10th. It's unlikely that we'll stun everyone, but how many teams are in the conference that are mediocre? I don't really expect any team from the Big Ten to even make it to the Elite 8 this year, and those that barely squeak into the tournament are fair game. I'd truly be shocked if we finished 9th or lower. We may not have experience, but there's several teams in the Big Ten with players starting that wouldn't even be asked to walk-on at IU.
