Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Wow I caught a glance at our new schedule, and it is tough. We could easily start out at 2-5. I really like this schedule though because A) we have nothing to lose, B) it will only give us good experience, and C) it proves to me that Kelvin Sampson has lost some of his power over the University. Im sure the Sampsonites are furious with how difficult our schedule is. There are hardly any cupcakes in our NC schedule, and the only other lesser competition is the other members of the Big 10 cellar. Im glad Tom is going for the jugular, even though theres a very good chance we wont win any of those games. What do you guys think about the schedule?

Well, I can't wait until the day where we don't have to hear Sampson's name spoken again.

The schedule looks really tough. It'll be interesting to see if we come out of it with more experience or with our confidence shot. I think a lot of that will rely on Crean's ability to motivate. It's really disappointing to me that we're playing this schedule this year with our least experience line-up in a long time. I'm still going to enjoy seeing us try to compete, but I would've loved to see an IU team play this schedule where we had a chance to win every game. Hopefully we continue this type of schedule in years to come where we'll have a chance.

I am not gonna be able to go to the Wooden Tradition this year (Go Purdue!!). I may have to go to the Hartford Hall of Fame Classic. It is at the Lucas Oil stadium in Indy on Dec. 6 and has IU v Gonzaga and the other game is rumored to be ND and Ohio St. Will probably have to fill my need to see early season big ten ball. Go IU. I hate Gonzaga.

And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I know there will be a lot of pissed off guys if this happens, but don't be too shocked if IU loses to Cornell at home.

...i'm excited as hell about the schedule...Crean just continues to show no fear and that he has extreme confidence in his abilities and decision making...first he came in and immediately cleaned house, brought in his own players and now he takes on a schedule like this...

...imo, Crean has made all of the right moves so far...like jazen said in a thread the other day...'i don't care what the record is next year, this is the most excited i've been to be an IU basketball fan in quite a while'...

I see at least 5 possible wins and could be 7. I personally think the pre-conference schedule isn't that tough, other than the Maui Classic, Gonzaga, and Kentucky.

Well, of the 10 OOC games we have, we have

Notre Dame
St. Joseph's or Texas
@ Wake Forest
Gonzaga
@ Kentucky

I also don't know much about Cornell but they were 22-6 last year and undefeated in the Ivy League. That's not a team you want to look past, especially not if you are team with as a little experience as IU this year.

That schedule, with our inexperience, is very tough.

I agree it is tough for IU's experience level but when I saw the title of the thread I was thinking a lot worse.

We aren't going to win very many games, true, but our first class under Crean is going to get some experience and toughen up and I honestly think we could be dancing by his second season.
