Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

This is my logic to having a top 5 recruiting class. Illinois has the #4 best recruiting class, according to Rivals. Indiana is ranked #9 by Rivals without Watford. Now with Watford we will move into the #4 spot, ahead of Illinois.

This is why:

Illinois recruiting class:
2009 commits (National rank)
SG Brandon Paul (44)
SG D.J. Richardson (57)
SG Joseph Bertrand (116)
PF Tyler Griffey (127)

Indiana recruiting class without Watford:

2009 commits (National rank)
SG Maurice Creek (59)
SF Derek Elston (98)
PG Jordan Hulls (106)
PF Bobby Capobianco

No you add Watford, which he is ranked 34th by Rivals nd that puts us ahead of Illinois. That will give us 3 in the top 100 and 4 in the top 110. Illinois would still have 2 in the top 110. Do any of you agree with logic?

i agree with the logic -- we also have more balance than illinois in our class. (every position except C). They have 3 SG..

You don't have to worry about that class until they are probably juniors. Come 2011, you will know exactly who they are.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I'd agree with that logic if things stayed exactly the way they are right now, but they probably won't. 15 of the 25 5* players haven't even committed yet. There are also still 24 4* players yet to decide.

When all of that happens, then you can make some conclusions.

Agree with that last point Dcam made. Also, will Rivers transferring have any effect? I know he isn't a phenom or anything like that but he has played major games in his life and adds something that no one in either class has; experience.

I think he will probably start for both years he is at IU. His experience and defense on the perimeter will be needed.

Also agree with Dcam on this one. Just like our class wasn't finished, other school's classes aren't either. Top 10, likely. Top 5? I don't really think so. In the end though it's irrelevant. I love being ranked high just like evryone else, but we all know it has 0 bearing on what actually happens when they get here.

Most definitely. Its definitely a high caliber class with some very good players. 4th, 7th, 9th, I don't really think it matters. You guys got a legitimate talent up grade, which is all that matters.

That last sentence is brilliant. Rankings are fun to look at and fun to talk about, but in the end, it matters what happens when they get here.

Hey, you know what you are talking about, I think I know what I'm talking about, so maybe we are long lost twins.
