Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

NLA, why don't you comment on some of the more substantive issues we've been talking about over here, like the federal bailout nonsense?

If you haven't already, you should read the piece I posted in the "$1 trillion bailout" thread!

I'm still in shock about the federal bailout "nonsense", but I still think that who we elect as our next President in November is "substantive"

the Repubs preach "less government", "less regulation" and "less spending"

give me a fucking break... who has lead us into this mess we are in now?

Yeah, but you don't engage in any substantive discussion. You pop in, link to an article about why McCain sucks, and then leave. I've called you out numerous times, even asked you to simply defend your boy Barack, but you always run and hide or try your best to use "humor" to escape the situation. Other people have called you out on it as well. I've yet to see you contribute anything of substance to this board. Quite frankly, I'm beginning to think you're not even capable of it. Prove me wrong, man.

Don't take this personally, I'm just tired of people that have no idea what they're talking about trying to involve themselves in politics and economics.

Uhh...Social liberals who thought it was a good idea to force government sponsored enterprises to give mortgages to people who were clearly undeserving of such a loan, in the process passing off the risk onto the taxpayers? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they had a pretty big role in all of this.

I'm assuming you're referring to the post above the one you've quoted, because what you've quoted is fact, and to argue otherwise is nonsensical.

You're right, I do cut and paste articles all the time, but I include my own viewpoints and use the articles to back them up or to summarize the positions I'm espousing more eloquently and succinctly than I myself am capable of. I don't just drop in and drop articles arbitrarily like you do. Plus, I'm willing to bet the articles I drop are a bit more weighty than the simple McCain bashing articles you seem to prefer.

Tell you why McCain is my man? Are you fucking kidding me? You've just discredited yourself more than I ever could. Thanks for making my life easier by proving my point for me. Do you even read anything that anybody else has to say in here?

so, I guess what you're telling me is that you are throwing away your vote.

That's understandable. I live in California (which will no doubt be a win for Obama)
I wish I had a decent candidate as a "protest" vote... but none exists.

You obviously don't read my posts either. I am not an "Obama lover"

Actually, there's some veracity to your claim that I'll be throwing my vote away this year, but it's not why you think. Voting third party, in my opinion, is NEVER a wasted vote. That being said, I'll probably be writing in zombie Grover Cleveland this year, as there are no stand out candidates this year. Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party won't be on the ballot in Indiana, unfortunately, so zombie Grover Cleveland it is.

Nader or McKinney?

Everything I've seen from you leads me to suspect that you're pretty much a straight ticket Democrat. I didn't call you an Obama lover, I called him "your boy". Regardless, that's who you'll undoubtedly be voting for this November, so what difference does it make?

I have to side with NLA on this one. Ludwig looks a bit like a member of the undead, and the kind of person who would have great difficulty seeing himself in a mirror.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed
