Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

You are The Boss... which team would you hire?

With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing Federal spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an unusually critical election year.

Let's look at the educational background of your two options:

Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

& Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899

& Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Now, which team are you going to hire ?

Seems like a no brainer to me...any McCain fans care to throw in their two cents?

Maybe I'm greedy, but if I'm the boss I'm taking over the position myself and almost doubling my salary. :)

Yeah I will

G W Bush has a MBA and an BA from the Ivy League. Biden has 4 years real life experience. As a lawyer than in 1972 entered the Senate. Biden grauated in the bottom of his class at University of Delaware Newark and at law School. Not sure how he got into law school after he graduated in the top 80% of his class. He was accussed of plagerism at Syracuse for 5 different papers. Obama also has little experience outside of politics.

McCain served the country in uniform for 22 years and Palin has ran a business.

I'm not saying anything negative about any man or woman in uniform, I respect and support all troops, but that does not automatically qualify you for any position in the business world. I agree it would help if you were going for a job and had that on your resume', but I disagree with people who use that to elevate a candidate above other for a non-military position. Trust me, I know from experience. One of my ex-bosses was in the army for a long time and then took over as manager of where I work. Needless to say he had no business being a manager in the business world. I know it varies based on the person, but don't throw that in like that makes McCain more worthy. Also what business did Palin run?

NLA, you do realize that we have a democratic controlled Congress right? Is that the "team" that you are referring to?

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

The President is not like running a business. For your information McCain was an officer and held command at a couple of times. That means he made decisions and was responsible for equipment and personel and had a budget. The difference between running a fleet and a business is in the Military you are also responisible for the welfare of your people.

IMO opinion this thread is stupid. You are going to vote for Obama a socialist while I am going to vote for McCain. I do not want America to become a socialist state but some do and i guess you are one of them. Really nothing to discuss.

I think I would outsource the job to India. i would pay less and actually get the job done correctly.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

If I was running an ambulance chasing business, I would hire Obama and Biden. Otherwise, I would focus on the experience portions of their resumes, and see very little on Obama's, and the same year repeated about 30 times on Biden's. It's not even close.

If it was MORE like running a business, then we wouldn't be in the current financial crunch nor have the national debt that we have. It would also force us into foreign intervention only in extreme cases and take into account the fact that a war based on falsehoods with no economic gain is not a proper 'business venture.'
