Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I actually think he could have hit a homerun if he just said, "I'm suspending my campaign to go back to Washington." But what do you think about the request to suspend the debates? I think the media will kill him for wanting the debates postponed (chicken, afraid of Obama, etc), but will praise him for putting the race aside for a few days do deal with business.

How do you guys see this playing out?

Political BS. The man who admitted less than a year ago that he doesn't know enough about economics is going to go back to Washington so solve the crises? It is kinda like the Palin pick. Could look pretty good, could look pretty bad. I am curious what he means by suspending his campain. All that really means is that he won't be doing rallies. He will still have radio and tv ads going. His surrogates are still going to be talking him up on tv.

With the hits he has taken in the polls since this fiasco started brewing I get the gut feeling this is more a "step back and rethink strategies" timeout more so than "go to washington to fix the problems" timeout. This is posturing.

That being said, I respect that he is going back to the job you and I are paying him to do anyway. I am fairly certain I couldn’t run for president for a year, be excused from work, and still have a job waiting for me when I returned.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I think it's a good move. We're all fucked in the short term if some decent plan can't be put together.

Hoosier,

I am not sure about ads and the tv stations schedules the guest. The Camp other than grassroot efforts is suspended. I was suppose to do an event with E. Dole this Saturday and it is cancelled. I am a volunteer not a high level guy. I was told all we are doing is phone bank and knocking on doors until further notice.

The "fundamentals of the economy are sound" to "suspend my campain" in less than a week.

McCain has become the disingenious politician that he rails against. His campaign is headed in the wrong direction and he doesn't want to debate in the current financial crisis.

He's in his 70's for crissakes....you'd think that his testicles would have dropped by now. Man up and stop running away.

The McCain/Palin ticket is in a tailspin and they are grasping at straws until they try to figure out a way to re-group.

Stay tuned, "my friends"...

i love how they won't let the media ask sarah palin questions. she met with the afghan president, and only after intense pressure did they let one camera man into the room for a whole 29 seconds.

what are they covering up? her lack of knowledge? because we already know that much.

did you see the Katie Couric interview with Palin?

When Katie asked her a question and Palin responded, "I'll get back to you"

:wtf:

That's how fast things changed, Brumdog.

Obama claims this is a very serious problem, and I completely agree that we need a solution by the weekend. Yet he would rather focus on the campaign and debate, although he refused town hall debates the last few weeks. This event speaks volumes. When a crisis erupts, McCain wants to solve it and Obama wants to do what he does best--talk about it.

You guys just don't get it, and would prefer playing partisan politics. Further illustrates why Obama isn't fit to lead.

No, I think you are the one that doesn't get it. Do you really believe that a man who admitted that he doesn't know as much about economics as he should is going to go to Washington to lead the Senate to a solution. Bullshit. How can you lead on something you know nothing about. MAYBE he is going back because he really wants to help. But wanting to help, and actually helping are two different things.
