| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Wow, it's sad how some Americans have zero respect for others' religious beliefs. Reminds me of the old days when those who deviated from the "approved" religious thought were burned at the stake. |

what are you looking for enemy? That video provided no details of what was going on. Do you know what they were doing, the context of the ritual....etc? |
![]() The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism. | |

In all fairness to Sarah Palin, she was accepting a blessing from a man. It's not like she could have run out of the church screaming because the guy is insane. |

True, but it wasn't a socially acceptable blessing. Luckily for Sarah it isn't the 17th century, and the people posting here won't burn her at the stake. |

Sorry, IMO, non-issue. They had a guest pastor in her church who offered to pray over her. I know if a pastor wanted to say a blessing for my protection and security, I sure wouldn't say no. I don't believe he handed her a text of the prayer so she could edit it. This man is from Kenya, where they very much still believe in witchcraft, which is deeply entrenched in their culture. He naturally asked for protection from a force he truly believes. Period. Palin no more believes in witchcraft than we do and any one trying to compare this to the 20 years Obama spent listening to the venom being spewed from Wrights lips is just trying to blow smoke up our butts. It isn't going to work. NON-ISSUE |

If Obama calling a black racist his "spiritual mentor" for 20 years is the giant, rotting elephant laying in the room, this witch story is maybe a small pimple on that elephant's ass. Nothing more. |

...flyer, your voice is one that i really respect on here and one that i also frequently agree with...with that said, i guess we will agree to disagree... ...from everything i've heard she knew who this man was and invited him to her church to 'help her win her election'...all i am saying is that if these are the kinds of people that she picks and surrounds herself with then i am somewhat disturbed to say the least... |

...lars, i will not deny the fact that rev. wright is a horrible person and has said some very bad things...but what he has said does not even compare to the FACT that muthee ordered a woman, that he believed to be a witch, to be stoned to death...so, you have your pimple on the elephant's ass analogy backwards...you can not even compare the two...let me repeat myself...one man said some stupid shit and the other ORDERED A WITCH TO BE STONED TO DEATH!!!... ...now palin made the decision to bring this man to her church after he had done these things...she made this decision as an adult running for governor of a state in our country...obama knew his minister since he was a young man...a young man who admittedly made mistakes at that young age and learned from them...i'm sure wright helped obama through these tough times and helped him become a better person... ...so to say these two things even compare to one another is ridiculous... |

I guess we can agree to disagree on this issue. If there was something systemic in her past that exhibited this type of behavior, then I might be more inclined to accept your reasoning. With all the dirt digging that the media has been doing, if her receiving a blessing from a minister invited to speak at her church is the worst they can find, then I am over all pretty happy with her. I have never seen a politician have to go through the scrutiny in the media as she has had to endure. Granted, some of it is very legitimate, 2 months ago, hardly any one not from Alaska had ever heard of her. That fact alone deserves extra attention from the media. Problem is, that scrutiny was all one sided against her. That being said, 18 months ago, no one had ever heard of Obama outside of Chicago either. The big difference to me is that even with all SERIOUS skeletons in his closet, the media chooses to ignore or explain them away. I certainly don't know anything about how he really will be as president and I would wager to say that nearly all of the over the top Obama supporters here have no clue either. I can only base my opinion on his liberal track record in the Senate and his past associations with ultra liberal organizations such as ACORN, and his associations with people like Wright and Bill Ayers. None of which I think are appropriate for a president. Sorry for the rambling, I am still trying to get over my wrath with the Congress over the Pork Bill. I'll get off my soap box now. :soap: |
