Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Biden on coal plants: "No coal plants here in America" (conveniently at an event in Ohio where they have no coal)

Fro Obama's website, on his New Energy page, under the header of "Create Millions Of New Green Jobs," the fourth highlighted entry directly references clean coal where it says: Develop and Deploy Clean Coal Technology

Obama on 9/20/08: I will implement a market-based cap-and-trade system to reduce carbon emissions by the amount scientists say is necessary: 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. I will start reducing emissions immediately by establishing strong annual reduction targets with an intermediate goal of reducing emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.

. . . I will also create a Technology Transfer Program dedicated to exporting climate-friendly technologies, including green buildings, clean coal and advanced automobiles, to developing countries to help them combat climate change.

In May 2008 (while campaigning in W. Virginia and Kentucky) Obama's campaign distributed flyers in Kentucky stating that "Barack Obama believes in clean Kentucky coal." The flyers show a picture of giant barges carrying coal down the Ohio River.

How again is Mr. Obama going to reach across the aisle and "transcend" politics if he can't even transend his running mate?

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

*crickets* from the Obama supporters on here. I would assume that if McCain/Palin did this, NLA would have some post informing all of us that the election is basically over and Obama is going to walk away with it because the Republican team is in disarray

Sounded like he said "no coal in the US" but we still need to invest in clean coal technology so that we can "clean up China's coal". Is that the way you interpreted it too, aaron? It was a little confusing at first because his first statement was "we aren't supporting clean coal" and I think he meant that we aren't supporting the USE of clean coal in the US, but we are supporting the research behind obtaining the technology for clean coal.

Methinks when you and Lars are hearing crickets, it might be coming from inside your heads....

He has said before that he is not in favor of "coal technology" which I would assume means any type. He is sort of a loose cannon, so it is hard to tell for sure, but he is clearly not communicating very well with Obama on this issue.
