| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Did anyone else think that they both did absolutely terrible? Perhaps each of them did a good job of exposing their opponents weaknesses (which probably isn't very hard with these 2 guys), which is why they looked so bad, but seriously, I thought they both came across as very vague, tempermental, and ignorant on many issues. The moderator seem to have a very very hard time keeping them on the correct subject matter. |
![]() The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism. | |

...i would definitely say that it had alot to do with how Lehrer moderated the debate...he allowed them to repeat themselves to much which obviously didn't shine a very good light on obama or mccain...there were no knockout punches landed by either candidate and to be honest i don't think i even saw one thrown... ...i don't know if all television coverages were the same but on nbc the split screen often caught obama trying to get Lehrer's attention while mccain was still speaking...this did not make obama look good in my eyes...and on the flip side mccain very rarely, if at all, made eye contact with obama...often using a rude, demeaning tone with him... ...so basically, these debates are obviously for the undecided voters...and i don't think either candidate scored points there... |

Yeah, it was so bad, that i didn't even watch all of it. The two campaigns worked on the deal to be able to speak more freely, which would have been good except for the fact that they each used their freedom to repeat talking points over and over again. |

Didn't see it, will watch it later. I was at the Brickies game at Lowell...we fell behind 35-11 in the middle of the third quarter, then proceeded to score 21 straight points to pull with 35-32 in the middle of the fourth quarter. We recovered a fumble on the Lowell 20, then a bad snap lost us 24 yards. Ended with the 35-32 score. BTW, saw something I hadn't seen before: with no wind, Hobart's kicker had two kickoffs sail through the uprights from the regulation 40 yard line. One landed about 8 yards beyond the goal post -- that's a 78 yard kickoff. Kid has a future. |

I actually thought McCain did better than I expected. I wish he didn't keep repeating his campaign attack ad material, and instead was a little more specific on his own plans, but whatever. Obama seemed nervous in the beginning and didn't really get into a flow until about halfway through. By the way how OLD did McCain make himself look! While playing up his experience he kept saying, "I remember when so and so told me this 20 years ago." At one point he mentioned ALexander the Great for some reason and I just laughed silently thinking about McCain havin a bear with good 'ol Alex. |
