Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Undecided about my major. I've changed my mind 3726 times. :-/
What type of classes have you enjoyed the most?
My Intro to American Politics (professor shouted out Ron Paul 9832 times in class because he knew I was the organizer of the local group, even though he didn't support him himself - his brother was an RP nut too though); Geography; Astronomy; Psychology...

If IUSB had a geology department this wouldn't be so damn difficult, haha. But yeah, I just need to step my game up and do what I gotta do, even if it means taking classes that are like a Lar's analogy times 100.
So have you thought of what type of careers you'd like in each field?

It's really hard to know what you'd like to do. In my time in college, I went from thinking about working for the CIA, to being a lawyer, to being a judge, to being a politician, and I ended up owning a software company... go figure. And now, I've been having a lot of people telling me that if I go back to school, I should become a psychologist, and it's something I've actually been considering seriously.

not a millionaire like his friend ron paul.

Yeah, isn't it fun to hate on somebody who worked his ass off to get where he is today? Bri, comments like these make me think you're a total idiot. Please refrain from making such mindless posts in the future. Thanks.
bri thinks all rich people are evil, and they only got that way by ripping off all of the poor people.
I know, it's completely absurd and I have a hard time tolerating such nonsense. Bri, go to your room!
i believe that thinking he is some sort of shining light among the rest of them is absurd. in the end he's just another dc prototype that, for the most part, has no clue what he's talking about. just like mccain, just like obama, just like the clintons, just like reagan, just like the bush's.

your RP fandom is tiring.

honestly bri...saying that shows that you actually have no idea what you are talking about. Dr. Paul is very very educated on the economic issues that he speaks about. Your ignorance/liberal bias is shining through big time on this thread

your ignorant statements about Paul show your liberal bias. He is the only true conservative out there in the national public right now, therefore I wouldn't expect you to like him, therefore attack his intelligence and understanding of the issues, which actually makes you look stupid given the fact that it is very very clear to just about everyone else that Dr. Paul is extremely intelligent and educated on the issues.

Brian, I can't believe you just said what you said. Ron Paul is obviously just as human as the rest of us, but to say that he is just another member of the gang of 535 in DC is beyond ludicrous.

You say he has "no clue what he's talking about". I would strongly recommend that you recant this statement because it makes you look like an idiot. Even Paul haters freely admit that he's very well educated on the issues and sees the same problems as they themselves do, he just wants to go about correcting them in the wrong manner. You, on the other hand, don't know what you're talking about. I'm sure I wasn't the only poster here to cringe upon reading your posts in this thread.

Yeah, what's your point? I don't have a reading disability, I know exactly what you said. What, you think that throwing in the names of random assholes clears you of any wrongdoing and that you shouldn't be called out for the idiotic portions of your statement? That's like me saying that blue is actually yellow, followed by an accurate assessment of the color of the sky. You think that just because half of your statement reeked of the truth it excuses your blatant wrongness in regard to the other half?

Don't belabor the process...

sirbri, I didn't "ignore" half of your post, I just pointed out the part that makes you look like a moron. The context of your statement in this case doesn't change the fact that you claimed that Ron Paul "has no clue what he is talking about". Yeah, you pointed out that there are others such as McCain, Obama, Clinton......etc, but it doesn't change the fact that you have Paul in that ignorant block.

Seriously, please explain to me how the context of your statement changes what you said about Ron Paul??? You are seriously looking dumber by the second on this thread!!!

OldSchool, since you didn't like my analogy of a super-tanker hitting a WW2 min, maybe you will like Warren Buffet's better:

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081002/buffett_economy.html
Buffett compared the U.S. economy to a top athlete who has suffered a sudden and severe heart attack. He said the proper response to such a heart attack is to use a defibrillator as soon as possible, not argue about the precise placement of the paddles or argue about whether the athlete should have taken blood pressure medication beforehand.

With all due modesty, I have to say my analogy is a little more fitting than Warren's.

Uhh, you do realize Warren Buffet has much to gain financially from a bailout, don't you?

Anyway, his analogy is pure shite as well. First of all, for the athlete to properly represent the current state of our economy, he'd have to be way out of shape and live on a diet of cheeseburgers, donuts, and pop. With this in mind, a "sudden" heart attack should not be a shock to anyone (as indeed it wasn't to the trainers who told him to alter his ways, i.e. the Austrian economists that have been warning of this day for years). One must also assume that there is no defibrillator at hand (as there is no magical cure to be found by way of government), so in a last ditch effort, spectators resort to stabbing him in the chest with a dull instrument. Their reasoning? "We couldn't just do nothing!"

It is later found, during the autopsy, that had the mob of spectators not impaled the man, he would have lived and made a recovery. Whether he would have given up his bad eating habits and wised up on staying healthy (free up the markets) or whether he would continue his prior ways (rampant state sponsored economic intervention) would remain to be seen.

How'd I do?
