| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! ive given you all well over 24 hrs and not 1 of you has put this up. are you all guilty of the "ADD syndrome" that permeates our society now? the fucking house passed this toilet paper bill that was all the rage early in the week and now becomes...nothing, and yet everything at the same time. obama is going to save us all, i guess. im fucking disgusted. ill tell you what happened here. early in the week this was trumpeted as a "wall street bail-out plan." naturally, the american people revolted and flooded congress with calls to vote "no." something amazing happened prior to the senate taking it under consideration: it was no longer called a "bail-out plan" by main stream media. it was now refered to in terms of "needing to be done to free up the credit market." remember this bullshit? nothing fucking changed except the price (stated) went from $700 billion to $850 billion. 26 representatives changed their vote based on this "media manipulation." and then to my FUCKING BEWILDERMENT, the moment it was passed, the "breaking news" byline on MSNBC read "HOUSE APPROVES $700 BILLION WALL STREET BAIL-OUT PLAN." wow. say goodbye to the republic. say hello to...where are we going? the dollar just crashed, are you intuned enough to know it? if not now, you will be soon enough. http://www.forbes.com/opinions/2008/10/01/goldman-morgan-run-oped-cx_nr_1002roubini.html :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: |

So do you all remember that little rant I went on about how the bailout was a bad idea? You know, the one where I mentioned something about how it wouldn't work and would actually dramatically exacerbate the problem? Yeah.............. PS: I called this shit too. I said it wouldn't pass the first time, at which point it would go back into deliberation, get stuffed with pet projects, get voted on again, and only then pass.....Yep. |

Luv ya, Old School...but you called it? Anyone following it closely knew that was going to happen. BTW, there was one congressman who actually changed his "yes" vote to a "no" once the pork was added but 50 some that went the other way. |

Yeah, you're right. I don't know why I felt the need to add that part, haha. I guess I wanted in on the whole 'calling it' thing since I wasn't into the Austrian School of economics earlier this decade (I didn't even know such a thing existed, nor would I have cared) when they 'called it'. Only difference is they were the only ones 'calling it' back then. Interesting fact about the congressman that switched to a 'Nay' vote, I was not aware of that. |
