Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Just like McCain, boilergard is desperate.

And defeated. He predicted that after Palin's "incredible!" debate performance that McCain would be within two points on Monday and then shortly pull even.

Gallup poll: Obama 50, McCain 42
Rasmussen: Obama 52, McCain 44.

Wow, thats funny stuff.

So the people that posted the video trying to tie the ideals of Obama to those of Adolf Hitler, do you think they are doing a service or a disservice to the country?
That video made me sick to my stomach. It seems like every election people make a comparison to Hitler. Does anyone really believe either candidate is close at all to Hitler? If you do, I'd like to see a better comparison than just showing pictures that look similar between the two. I could post pictures of Mother Theresea that look similar to Hitler and post quotes of her trying to help the world that sound socialist, but I'd dare anyone to say her intent was the same.

I know. I watched both.

The other one wasn't as abrasive. In regard to the other one, I think people are twisting what he meant. Lots of politicians call for our youth to step-up by helping their communities. Obama's comments don't lean towards a mandatory service unless that's what you're looking for. The military and the peace corp already reward service with grants for college, so that's just status quo. Helping out in homeless shelters wouldn't fall into that, but I'm sure there's programs around that already reward youth involvement in their communities. I know every scholarship I ever applied for would've looked highly on that type of involvement.

Personally, I'd rather see students in low-income families stepping-up to do some good to earn their college education than applying to FAFSA for free grants. I think students that work for their education won't waste it.

I forget where i read it but Obama has these community programs that train (brainwash is to harsh a word) Liberal ideas. He gets mandatory service passed and what Repub is against it and he can influence an entire generation with his liberal happpy horseshit. I also saw on hannity's America last night (so i discount it 40%) that Ayers has met with Hugo Chavez. Obama went to Chicago after meeting Ayers at Columbia and Ayers helped get him the Harvard scholly. Obama is on record saying he would meet with Hugo. Hannity is a bit biased so a stretch but scary if it is half true.

I really doubt he'd ever get passed mandatory service. There would be too many people against it. Also, if by some stretch he did, do you think all the conservatives would disappear? If a program is run in a small conservative Indiana town, the majority of people running it would end-up leaning right. They might try to keep them out at first, but eventually the majority would rule the local programs.

I've never seen much actual evidence that Ayers and Obama are very close. Even so, Ayers isn't teaching the same views as he was 40 years ago. Age has a way of doing that to people. Look at Nelson Mandela. He's one of my few heroes, although I don't condone some of the acts he took part in during his younger years. I'm not making the comparison that Ayers acts had a purpose like Mandela's; I'm just pointing out that if you viewed Mandela 40 years ago, he would be a militant compared to now where he's a spokesman for peace.

That was kind of the point. Would you be viewing Obama being friends with Mandela the same as Ayers? I doubt many people would look down on someone having Mandela as a friend. I know I'd love to meet him even though I disagree with a lot of his own political philosophies.

I respect Mr Mandela but I am not a fan of Socialist and if Obama was getting advice from him yes I would look down on him if McCain was getting advice from him I would not support him either. This nation has been against socialism for years and we are creeping closer to it and I believe Obama will implement it. His health care, punishing the rich, redistribution of wealth all seems like socialism to me. before you ask yes I was disappointed McCain voted for the bailout bill

I think there's a big difference from being friends with someone and taking advice from someone. Do you not have any extremely liberal friends? I doubt you let their opinions permeate into your own views. I have friends and even relatives that are extreme on both sides. For instance my Aunt is extremely religious to the point where she'd picket abortion clinics and would never think of voting for a Democrat. On the other hand, I have an Uncle that believes everything is a government conspiracy and that Republicans are behind a lot of it. I consider both good friends, and I listen to their tales, but at the end of the day, neither is going to influence me to have the same views as them.

there is no doubt that the McCain-Palin ticket is getting desperate... this is pathetic... American's are smart enough to see through this bullshit that McCain is spewing.

Let's talk about the economy... or maybe the wars/future wars we are engaged, our healthcare system, etc etc

Let's talk about something that affects Americans and their daily lives.

Fuck McCain. I actually used to respect him, silly me.

LISTEN UP, PEOPLE!!!
