We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Story here I'm surprised nobody has post his yet. I would be interested in seeing the outcome. Using the internet for fundraising does seem like it would have plenty of openings to cheat the system. |

By the time they make a ruling the election will be over. There is no real punishment for vreaking the rules. Say it is Nov 8th and it turns out the same guy donated $200.00 5,000 times what happens to the guy and Obama still wins. Now if they took away the money and fined team Obama 10% of donations that would be a story. |

True, but I think the law suit is more of an attempt to paint Obama in a negative light, than any real attempt at getting in trouble with the FEC. |

I can't imagine how difficult it must be to try and regulate all those $25 donations. Sounds like the Indiana phone calls! As long as they aren't turning a blind eye and are returning donations when they need to, I doubt anything will come of this. Even if there were $1 million dollars in fraudulant money, that's just a drop in the bucket. |

This story is hard to read. Not grammatically of course, but the Obama camp could be doing a number of things. They could be playing honestly trying to get this right, or the heavy internet fundraising, could have been a designed way of getting massive donations in small increments from people who want to give more than the maximum allowed number. The practical result, in any case, is a situation where if there is any wrong doing, its hard to detect, and even if it is detected, it won't be ruled on until after the election. |
