Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

It's really getting old. I wanted to vote for McCain (largely based on his support of nuclear power and more conservative agenda), but this is really turning me off. I don't care about Bill Ayers. I care a lot about how we're going to get ourselves off of oil and coal and how we're going to STOP SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE. McCain cutting taxes when we're already in a huge budget deficit is just stupid.

Argh. We need a viable third-party or independent candidate.

Chops, are you inanse? How could you not care about Bill Ayers? He was bombing US buildings when Obama was 8! Then he was exonerated and became a full-time professor. He met Obama when they were both on the board of a local non-profit organization aimed at improving education. Obama has served on a board with a TERRORIST. Obama has a shitty name. He must be a terrorist too! Don't you see that? Ignore the fact that Ayers was named "Citizen of the Year" in Chicago. Obama's connection with him must mean that Obama is a terrorist! Vote McCain!

I'm registered in Iowa - normally my vote would matter, but it doesn't really seem like McCain has any chance there anyway.

Apparently I should have registered in Indiana if I wanted my vote to make a difference. Who would have thought that Indiana would be a swing state and Iowa wouldn't?

Ayres got off on a technicality, and after 9/11 was unrepentant about his terrorist activities, and said "we didn't do enough." Later, he hosted Obama's first political fund-raiser. The fact is Obama is a left wing radical, and has associated himself with some very unsavory characters. We deserve to know more about the background of an inexperienced candidate with very little experience.

Chops, Obama has been against nuclear power, clean coal technology, and more drilling. He thinks we will solve all of our energy problems using alternative energy technologies, which is easy to say when you know nothing about technology, and have very little experience.

"Swing states" are ones that could swing an election one way or another....an argument could be made that there aren't any swing states this year.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Iowa is one of the two states where McCain is outspending Obama in ads. That is why Chops is seeing more negative McCain ads. That, and Obama has smartly put a lot of his negative stuff on local radio, and put more of his biographical stuff on network t.v. That way the negative stuff doesn't get as much press.

I'm actually at Purdue right now, but it's not so much the ads as it is the tone of both campaigns. McCain hasn't even been respectful during the debates, which is annoying.

Also, clean coal is a terrible idea and I'm glad Obama is against that.

Dem-Repub whatever we missed the boat on nuclear power. It's ridiculous. As for the drilling aspect. If I have to hear one more Dem say "If we start drilling now we won't see a drop of oil for 10 yrs." Repubs have been wanting to drill for the last 20 or so and if we had we would see that oil NOW! No restictions please. None of this "My candidate wants incresed drilling" Cop out.
The nine scariest words in the english language. " I'm with the government and I'm here to help" - Ronald Reagan
"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
