  • Question for UB
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

As the board's resident high rolling stock expert, where do you see the bottom, and when will you be a buyer. (assuming you haven't been buying on margin the last month, and need to scavenge dumpsters for your next meal)

Never use margin. Calling bottoms are usually futile though the risk/reward is getting in the bulls favor. Maybe 5% or so down with a 20%+ relief rally are decent odds to nibble. Be forewarned though - this market has been delivering non-stop Iron Lotus blows to the dip buyers.

Final thought - Bush needs to stop talking. Everytime he babbles the markets sells off.

That was surprisingly both coherent and an insightful observation :p.

Agreed! Thanks for that, UB.

I think UB is smarter than many of you give him credit for.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I'm guessing his mom displays some of those solid northern Indiana values, and has stocked the freezer with TV dinners.

Hoosier or Furnace Builder - doesn't matter; I'll shepherd the lost sheep (no butt fucking 'em boilers) out of cold and into the barn.

Watch the last hour of trading for a market turn. Down 361 at 2:16 est.

I predict a strong finish.

Update: 3:28 est, the dow is trying to push positive.

Amazing battle by the bulls to push this green into the weekend. Quite an accomplishment given the huge amount of margin calls forcing liquidation. If the G-7 meeting the weekend accomplishes anything noteworthy, watch out Monday morning.

You could see a 1000 pt rally.

It actually was a nice rally, with the DOW ONLY closing down 128 points. Monday may be a suckers rally, but we're going to AT BEST trade sideways the next few months.

it will be more than a suckers rally - this market will see Dow 10000 before it sees 7500.

keep the panic selling coming - pros like me are on the other side of the trade.
