  • Question for UB
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Hoosier or Furnace Builder - doesn't matter; I'll shepherd the lost sheep (no butt fucking 'em boilers) out of cold and into the barn.

Watch the last hour of trading for a market turn. Down 361 at 2:16 est.

I predict a strong finish.
Update: 3:28 est, the dow is trying to push positive.

Amazing battle by the bulls to push this green into the weekend. Quite an accomplishment given the huge amount of margin calls forcing liquidation. If the G-7 meeting the weekend accomplishes anything noteworthy, watch out Monday morning.

You could see a 1000 pt rally.
BUMP

BOOOOOOOM!
Hey biasedHomer, your call of the 1000 market run up a couple of weeks ago would have been more helpful if you had mentioned traders should have used that sucker rally as an opportunity to sell more stock.

Joe Sixpacks like yourself were incredibly naive to believe that was a bottom.
you are such a fucking dickhead that has no clue about the markets and finance in general. assholes like yourself go through life playing monday morning QB. you are nothing short of a miserable cock sucker

that being said - I called the IMMEDIATE market reaction. if you wanted a further out view I could have opined that as well. I gave the IMMEDIATE view and it was almost 1000% spot on.

I could buy and sell you 5 times by noon - it is joe clock punches like yourself I laugh at. don't ever ever ask me for another market call because you not only do not deserve it - you can't afford to appropriately act upon it.

now run along back to your local bank and inquire what 5 year CD's are paying - fuckface.

you are realistic, you do not take yourself too seriously and are basically not some humorless drone that jacks off everytime the world's largest drum gets rolled out to a chorus of 'boiler up' .

I also enjoy Navin johnson.

the military service is just a bonus. I respect that. Most guys I know that did any serious military time end up like Tim Robbins in Jacob Ladder.....

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Wow, somebody hasn't taken her Midol today. Nobody ever said you don't know how to read the WSJ, and I've been somewhat impressed by your coherent statements about the market and trading. I'm sorry you started shorting the US$ last month to buy gold--that's gotta hurt.

While I don't believe you're a successful, high rolling trader (don't see many of them hanging out on ESPN message boards) I don't doubt that you make some day trades. Guys like you will tend to make money when the market is doing well, and tend to lose when the market goes down. Productive members of society like me will continue to make a good living regardless of the market conditions, while actually making real contributions to society.

The good news for you is the market should do better longer term, just like IU bball in the next 2-3 years. I don't see a protracted recession/depression, although I've admitted that nobody knows just how bad things will get. We will see both sides of the argument daily, the gloom and doom sayers, and the ever cheerful market advisers saying how stocks are always best over the long haul, and you shouldn't pay attention to these fluctuations.

The good news for you is Ft Wayne is almost as affordable as Columbus. LMAO @biasedHomer

You made a great call shorting GOOG at 570. I bought at $495, watched it skyrocket, and have I've ridden it all the way down to today. Definitely should have taken some money off the table, but Google is an amazing efficient company, and a couple of the smartest people I know work there. My plan was to sell it and another holding at a loss to cover some other gains before the year end. I'm taking your prediction of another sucker rally in November under advisement.

LIARS - if you keep your mouth shut and just listen, I might give you money making insight that others pay a lot for.

My father in law bought 2000 shares years ago when it was around $32 a share. He's since cashed out.
Do that math and get back to me.
God. I wish I would have borrowed the money and followed that advice from his broker. :banghead:

Googles IPO was at $85 and has never dropped below that.

Right, Bob, they went public in '04. My wife wanted to buy some shares at the IPO, but I still didn't appreciate the power of search combined with advertising, and over-estimated Microsoft's ability to compete. I finally bought some shares in June 07 after getting tired of watching that shit go up. :D

Perhaps... Do you expect the recent lows to be tested again, and if so, when?
