Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Since someone is always bringing up the new poll numbers as they come in I figured why not have a single thread where we can all keep up to date on the polls and people's thoughts about them?

The Zogby came in today at +10 Obama. It is the first time all election season that the Obama has held a double digit lead in the Zogby.

I'm surprised their aren't more polls coming out for Indiana and North Dakota. I don't think Obama will win either of them but the fact that they are close is interesting to \say the least.

I am a little suprised with Indiana but with the current presidency it makes since.

I would imagine the amount of polling will increase in all the battleground states over the next couple weeks. With the races being close, and more people paying attention there will be a call for more up to date info.

Hog,

The numbers do not look good today. Zogby +10 and Rassy +6 not a good day for the home team.

I haven't even had a chance to look. What do you attribute it too? Could it be a Powell bounce?Ordinarily, I wouldn't think an endorsement cound create a 3-4 point bounce, but I don't know of anything else that has happened over the last 3 or 4 days to attribute it too.

I like this...now I can just tune into this thread to see you and BG1 go back and forth on numbers that don't really matter ;)

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I would say with Zogby maybe the Powell bounce with Rassy no it has gone up and down from 4 to 7 for the last couple of weeks. Gallup is a constant mover so I do not see Powell having a impact there. GW has it at 2% today. The race is close but Obama still has an advantage. McCain has to rapidly cut into that advantage in Colorado the hardest state to poll and Virginia if he has a shot. I am starting to think Virginia will cost us the election.

o answer your question Powell has affected the Zogby but not the others and today is not a good day for team McCain

I was not impressed with John or Sarah at the first stops today. They both seemed to be off a little today.

Hog,

Who the fuck is F&M/hearst-Argyle. I have never heard of this polling agency before. They have it as a 5% race which I believe is fairly accurate but who the fuck are they and why did they just start reporting today.

After a little research it looks liek it is the Franklin and Marshall College poll. I have no idea who they really are or why they just started getting numbers.

Penn comes in at +11 today and Alaska is at +11 for McCain. Shouldn't Alaska be much more in favor of McCain?

Thanks for the info Dreach. I had never heard or them either. I am sure over the last couple weeks we will see all kinds of polling organizations pop up.

Not really. Many Alaskans want to keep Palin as Gov and Romney won Alaska. ted Stephens is in deap shit up there and that is hurting the Rep brand in Alaska. Alaska has had a Dem Gov before and Anchorage the largest city the only true city in Alaska the rest are just towns has had grwat growth in the past few years. Anchorage has an Dem for mayor. Anchorage and the suburbs is over 150,000 people. Fairbamks the next largest town is around 35,000 people. 12,000 of those citizens are at Ft wainwright and most are registered in other states. it is funny but the military votes at a pretty low rate. In 2006 I was the company voting assitance officer and no one in the company cast a ballot. I didn't even cast a ballot in 2006. We where in Baghdad and voting was not a big priority. I put it out every day prior to the election but no one came for assitance. Now you could do it online somehow so maybe a few voted online but not one came to me for help. WE just cared about staying alive Oct 2006 was a brutual month in Iraq.

Worse news for McCain. In national polls whrre Barr and Nader are an option Obama has a +9.3% lead. That's almost 2% more than the polls where it is just McCain and Obama. I don't think McCain can afford to lose votes to Barr or Nader at this point.
