Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

My biggest pet peeve is people who vote for obama because he is black, or people that dont understand what both sides stand for. I want to talk to a Democrat and want them to answer me why they believe that obama is the right man for the job.. i want to know why his plan is not socialism..

any takers?

i want to know why i walked past a construction site today and a worker said, "I couldn't stand to see one of them in office." I want to know why I saw a girl today that had a shirt that said "NOBAMA" and on the back "KISS MY WHITE ASS." I want to know why people are telling Obama supporters to not vote until tomorrow.

Just realize that your side is never empirically right. There are 2 sides to each story. I see the salience of your side, but you seem to have ignored the relevance of my side. That's the beauty of America, we can vote for whoever we like.

ps.. look up the definition of socialism and continue to defend that Obama is a socialist.

McCain during a town hall meeting in 2000:

Audience member: "Why is it that someone like my father who goes to school for 13 years gets penalized in a huge tax bracket because he's a doctor."

McCain: "I think it's to some degree because we feel obviously that wealthy people can afford more."

Audience member: "Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism?"

McCain: "Here's what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more."

Thats why you shouldn't vote for either. Both deserve to be President as much as I deserve to be a Victoria's Secret model.

So you are voting for Obama because some Republicans are idiots? Wonderful.

brum, having one group of people pay more for social services is not something I am in favor of, but it is very different from having one group of people's money diverted directly to another group. Wouldn't you agree?

First off Brum, That quote is from 2000, and if you have followed closely, McCain has run a COMPLETELY different campaign this year than he did in 2008.

and secondly, i do understand Obama's views on things, i just dont understand why people believe that this is right. Obama is an excellent speaker, and motivator, but that only gets you so far. He is inexperienced, and while he might be the greatest president ever, we dont know because he doesnt have the experience that McCain does.

Btown i get that. I respect that because while there are plenty of people who wont vote because Obama is black, there are more that will vote for him because he is black. There are record numbers of voters this year, and i give props to Obama for that, but over 70% of these people who have never voted before, are african american.

I dont know if you have heard this before, but it is pretty funny, and goes to show my point.

You mean like social security, where the rich pay a much lower percentage of their pay than low income workers do?

you are pathetic for reading it like that. i clearly stated that no side is empirically correct. I'm voting for Barack Obama because of the issues. I think it is sad that people don't on both sides, but that's just the nature of the beast.

Where have you been? There are plenty of Obama supporters on this board that have been giving good reasons to vote for him for the last few months now. We shouldn't have to rehash all of our posts just because you were late to the party (no offense).

As expected, liberals want the rich to pay more, or "their fair share."

We will accelerate faster down the slippery slope toward a socialist state, and it's going to be a bumpy ride. Obama will be able to blame Bush to a point, but I don't know how long it will be until the voters revolt--hopefully 2010.

Hog, it appears likely our idea of needing to endure more pain before things can get better will play out the next few years. The question is whether voters like Btown will support libertarian or conservative candidates in 2012, or believe the Democrats when they say that government hasn't gone far enough, and things will get much better if the Feds are given more control.

Running a different campaign doesn't change who you are. And calling someone a socialist because of the 'spread the wealth' line when the difference between the highest marginal tax rate is 3% makes you 3% from socialism and a hypocrit.

John Kerry carried 85% of the african american vote.
