Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Los Angeles county had an 82% turnout... that's more than 3.5 million votes. Pretty impressive. I was afraid that many would not show up at the polls after results from the east coast started pouring in at 4pm here.

That's horrifying. I am still flabbergasted as to how anyone can see such a high voter turnout as a good thing, knowing the makeup of the crowds included a huge number of completely uninformed, ignorant voters.

as opposed to ignorant, uniformed, uneducated rednecks?

Maybe you would be happier if you moved to Austria.

So all Republican voters are rednecks?

Brilliant.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Just the ones in Penn. Racist, rednecks, clinging to their guns and bibles. And apparently to stupid to know they are being made fun of.

Uhh....Dumbass, I rant about ignorant voters in general, not just about the ones in your neck of the woods. If you used your brain once in a while to think things through or to comprehend my posts, you'd understand that. Everybody else on this board knows where I'm coming from, why do you have such a difficult time understanding my posts?

Ols School,

The constitution says everyone has the right to vote. No IQ requirement. Maybe ignorant voters piss you off but they have a right to vote.

pretty un-American to say someone has more of a right to vote than another

Agreed, but Old School's point is still valid, why should we encourage ignorant sheeple to vote? I don't want elections being bought by free cheese and free beer.

It is not about denying anyone. If you were given the chance to vote in Oklahoma's 1st congressional district which candidate would you support, How about Louisiana's 7th? I know who I supported and why. I would not vote in Louisiana because party affiliation is meaningless and I know little of the people running for office there. I vote for the man(or woman) not the party. I hope you do to, but not everyone does. Those people do a disservice to the electoral process. They should not vote, they should not be encouraged to vote, but they should not be denied the vote either. They could awaken and actually learn something about the candidates at any time.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I understand what you guys are saying. Not learning anything about the candidates does do a disservice to the election process. That said, the candidates are obviously more well known then whoever is running in Louisiana's 7th district. If nothing else, they see the ads on TV and hear them on the radio. It's not liek they know NOTHING. If those ads are what people are making their decisions off of then it is up to the candidates to put pertinent information in the ads.

I hope to God, Allah, Jehovah or nobody in particular to atheist, that tv and radio ads are not where they are getting their decisions to vote. Just not enough in my opinion. Having said that, I agree everyone has a right to vote.
