When McCain pulled everything out of Michigan and put all of his time, money, and resources into Pennsylvania, many people figured he would at least make Penn interesting. Here are the final results. Michigan - 57% - 41% Obama Penn - 55% - 44% Obama Did all that work buy McCain 2%? I don't think so. How could McCain have spent so much energy in Penn and not gained ANYTHING? To me, this has less to do with Obama and more to do with McCain. No matter how exciting Obama is, when a person spends that much time and energy selling their ideas in an area, they should cut into the lead. So what happened? I think Penn is an indication of the overall problem with McCain's election. People were not buying what McCain was selling. His message was all wrong. When it was obvious that they were running low on time the McCain campaign tried to pull out all the stops. They brought out ACORN Ayers Socialism Obama doesn't love the country We don't know anything about Obama etc, etc. Notice anything about all these things? They all have to do with Obama. That's why none of them worked. The problem wasn't Obama, the problem was McCain. He needed to come out with some new ideas and change his message. Instead he tried to keep hammering home all his same talking points. Pennsylvania should have been a clear indication of what the rest of America thought about McCain's campaign. He didn't need new talking points on Obama, he needed new talking points on himself. |

guys - the stock market crash of the last 6 weeks turned a neck and neck race into a landslide for Bo Bo. simple as that. Had October been flat - yesterday would have gone either way. Fear and perception won it for Curious George. |

I think that Political Science courses will be discussing these election campaigns at great length for years to come. Obama ran a brilliant campaign, from the ground up. There is no doubt the internet was also a huge factor in the outcome. |

My wife and I were talking about the internet last night after several pundits described how much more in depth Obama's campaign was in involving the internet. We both asked, how could McCain's campaign not have taken more advantage of the internet? I honestly thin part of it might be that he is 72, and just can't quite grasp the role internet plays in todays society. Why use more internet when we can run more tv an radio ads. They reach everyone, right? |

Dreach,' The canidate does not run the campaighn. Give it up to Axelrod. McCain had the same stuff MYSpace pages Facebook and the such. Axelrod made Obama the cool choice and Ron Paul and Obama figured out how to raise money online. Obama camp managed the information thy collected better. The text the vp thing was brillant. I would imagine that they blocked each number off by state and when early voting began started texing them to vote early. Direct personal contact very smooth. I will nor deny Team Obama ran a better campaighn. |

The future of the republican party is at a crossroad. In one corner is the Sarah Palin model. In the other is the Ron Paul model. Choose wisely...one model will doom you to the same fate. |
