  • Obama's Chief of Staff: Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Its the brother of the guy who Ari Gold plays in Entourage.

That means nothing really, just an FYI. Any Ari Gold connection makes me happy.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Update: According to Politico, he has accepted Obama's offer.

Being a conservative, I am not a big fan of Emanuel's policies. I am, however, an admirer of his political skill. He is the person who orchestrated the Dem takeover of the House a couple years ago. He is quite a character. Very abrasive, which is funny considering the fact that he studied ballet for a long time. I actually think he would do a good job in the position.

i think he is talented. I really hope Obama has a successful 4 years America needs that. I hope he doesn't follow the Bush plan of taking friends. Bush had to much of a Texas and former friends of his father in the administration. Cheney as VP and Rummy Cheney buddy as SEC DEf. I heard Obama was considering RFK JR as EPA head a horrible choice and Carloine kennedy as UN Amb WTF. I really hope he forms an administration of differing opinions group think is very dangerous see Bush admin.

On that point, there are a couple of Repubs that are front runners for the two top posts in his admin. Chuck Hagel - Sec. of Defense, and Sheil Bair - Sec. of Treasury

I do not like Chuck but he did stand up to Bush so that was good. he is a veteran so that is a positive. Hopefully if he is selected he speaks truth to power what more could you ask.

Maybe. Not sure where he would fit though. I know he has been floated as a possibility for Sec of State, and probably be good for the position, but I think ultimately that spot will go to either John Kerry or Bill Richardson. If I was a gambling man, I would bet on Richardson.

Btown,

I don't think the politics of that work. If Obama takes Lugar The Dems lose a moderate Repub. Mitch the Bitch would send a hard core conservative into that seat. The dems would not want Lugar out of the senate he is cable of crossing over on certain issues and a path for them to get to 60

Why no love for Chuck? because he wouldn't support McCain? He was right about Iraq, he was right about Pakistan, and he was right about the housing mess.

Good point BG. Which is why I don't see him picking a lot of currently serving congressman for his cabinet. That is part of the reason why I don't think John Kerry will be picked as his Sec. of State.

Chuck if i am correct voted to go into Iraq. He is a Veteran and should have known what he was voting to send us into. he is also a very smart man and should have understood the consequences of leaving Iraq in 2007. Bush has messed it up again. Bush will never understand the world view of military conflicts and how you win a low level conflict. Bush now that the election is over just like in 2004 is ready to make a move. It was announced yesterday we will lower troop levels in Iraq between now and Jan. I doubt I can properly explain it in here why Bush is so wrong on this. He is not wrong for cutting the troop levels but waiting til after the election. It had less to do with the election than the perception to the region we are involved in. The perception it sends is Obama wins and the next day we announce troop cuts hoorible PR.

kerry can be Picked Gov Patrick is a Axelrod guy and a Dem so he can replace kerry with a kennedy because Tedy is about done. I can see Kerry in the administration but I agree Gov Bill sold his endorsement and state for the Sec of State job. I believe Gov Bill would be better at that position then the horse face liberal sell out.
