Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Bubble NCAA
That should be plenty good enough to roll IU by 25.

except Carolina and UCLA
We would definitely be big underdogs going into it, but I don't think they're completely out of reach. Look at our game against Florida 2 years ago. I don't think they really even had a close game in the tournament other than us. Painter's defense will keep us in games against pretty much anyone. Unless a bunch of pansy-ass, cupcake-baking, fairy-dancing ACC refs are running the game. Then every time one of our guys glanced at a UNC player there'd be a technical called. Pansy league's forgot there's defense in basketball.
I'm sorry, I love our team, but UNC with a healthy Hansborough would probably work us over. UCONN scares me also with their size.

UCLA lost their two best players and I know they added possibly the best freshmen in the country, but I bet we could compete with them.
I'm not trying to say we'd waltz in and win handily, but I think we could hold with them. I doubt UNC sees a defense like ours too often. That can be damn disruptive to a team used to scoring 95+ points a game. And the whole possibility of staying competitive definitely hinges on Calasan and Johnson being able to defend Hansborough. You don't shut him down, probably don't contain him, but if they could at least make it difficult for him, I think it would be a game worth watching. It would have to be at Mackey, without a doubt. Our guys would need every scrap of help they could get.

After looking at this, it sounds damn ridiculous and fairly homerish, but I do think that if the refs let us play B10 defense, we'd make it a game.

I admire your support, Maker, but I see a Purdue/UNC game as being very similar to last year's Xavier vs. UCLA game in the Elite Eight.

Don't remember that game, but I'm thinking it'd be a 15+ point game. The same thing could be said for just about anybody in the country against them with a healthy Psycho T though.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

You guys are (throwing in a probably cause I can) right, but I don't want to admit it. I occasionally think about Purdue basketball during my day and I seriously start smiling for 30 minutes. I'm pumped to watch these guys play, and my enthusiasm might be getting the best of me. Damn it all though, I'm quite alright with it!

Jesus, I forgot about UCLA's starting 5 last year. Look at their minutes on the box score. Their starters played 88% of that game. That's ridiculous...

Elite eight is more of a letdown than the Sweet Sixteen once you lose, just because one more win, and you would have advanced another weekend.. I would rather lose the Sweet 16 game or advance to the final four and lose. My opinion anyway.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I've got my eyes set on the Elite 8 this year, but I think the Final 4 isn't completely ludicrous. If Calasan and Johnson can learn to play defense in the post, we're gonna be a real hard out. They don't even have to be that productive on the offensive side. They just need to be able to not let us get dominated like Xavier did. Even if our 3-point shots aren't falling, we still don't get very far behind because our defense almost never allows it. But if Calasan gets caught floating to the perimeter on defense or Johnson gets thrown around, a big team can throw it down low and there's little we can do to stop it. If that hole is shorn up, we can compete and beat about any team in the country on about any night of the year.
where's that Colin Cowherd video.

that should be the turdue fight song

I like the way you guys are thinking. And the fact that UB has upgraded us to a bubble madness team bodes well for our chances.
where's Ibuildfurnaces' prediction?

is there a multiple national title option?

I put the "one and done option" for some of our friends, but forgot all about IBuildFurnaces. There definitely should have been a "NC championship three-peat" option.

Sure. Just like Sanction knows nothing about the 600 illegal phone calls he made in the past two years.
