That's good news, Hog, and I don't parrot RNC talking points. I respect McCain and Graham, and if they are both praising this pick, that makes me feel better. I still expect a horrible presidency, but would be happy to be wrong. I think the silver lining of an Obama presidency will be making the Congress more balanced again. Balance is good, too much control EITHER WAY is bad. |

Yeah and McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time. Does that make him a real conservative? I am curious what you think a Centrist is Aaron. |

Quick story on Mr. Centrist Rahm Emanuel, then Clinton's chief fund-raiser, repaired with George Stephanopoulos, Mandy Grunwald and other aides to Doe's, the campaign hangout. Revenge was heavy in the air as the group discussed the enemies - Democrats, Republicans, members of the press - who wronged them during the 1992 campaign. Clifford Jackson, the ex-friend of the President and peddler of the Clinton draft-dodging stories, was high on the list. So was William Donald Schaefer, then the Governor of Maryland and a Democrat who endorsed George Bush. Nathan Landow, the fund-raiser who backed the candidacy of Paul Tsongas, made it, too. Suddenly Emanuel grabbed his steak knife and, as those who were there remeber it, shouted out the name of another enemy, lifted the knife, then brought it down with full force into the table. ''Dead!'' he screamed. The group immediately joined in the cathartic release: ''Nat Landow! Dead! Cliff Jackson! Dead! Bill Schaefer! Dead!'' This is a true story...look it up if you don't believe me. |

I guess that depends on what you call horrible. Personally, I think we will see something similar to what happened during Clitnton's time in office. Obama will have have comtrol of all three branches for a few years, then the repubs will make gains in the house and senate to kind of temper things a bit. I just hope that the gains they make are with the right people (i.e. not neo-cons). |

Yeah I have head it before. Rahm's a competitior. He won and he was letting people know what he won. How does that make him not a centrist? Oh and this little fact is meaningless, but I have eaten at the place that this incident took place. They have some damn good steaks. |

Hard for me to define....kind of like asking me what an ugly girl looks like...I can point out an ugly girl, and I can tell you who isn't ugly, but it is really hard to just give you a broad defintion of an ugly girl. I don't know how anyone with a 95%+ democratic voting record can be considered a centrist? |

The relevance is that just because you vote with your party the vast majority of the time doesn't make you a Conservative or a liberal. That is something you will learn first-hand if you do go to Washington (which by the way I would love to see happen). In D.C. you have to go along to get along. |

agreed, but I think that "going along" doesn't give you a right to magically proclaim yourself as a centrist. Hell, Rahm is an Illinois Politician...do you really think he is anywhere near the middle? |

I don't know that he has ever called himself a centrist, others have doen it for him. And yes I do think Rahm is a centrist. Now on social issues, he is a liberal. Give me a bit and I will post some links on why i believe is a centrist. Or at lease more so than many of his House Dem colleagues. |

Before i get to any links though I will say this. There is one sure way to know that Rahm is a centrist. The RNC is calling him a lefty, and the people over at Kos have beening complainginf for year he isn't progressive ehough. |

Hog, I believe AaronK will agree the RNC can lick my nuts. They are a broken partisian organization that is full of self serving spine-less back stabbing whiny little girls hate mongering assclowns. I doubt they endorse me in 2010 |

FYI, I have come to a conclusion on these Congressional Ratings systems. My conclusion -they are all bullshit, and these people that do them need to get real jobs. Here is my reasoning. You can go to vote smart and they have list of a bunch of different ratings services. If you look at the conservative ratings services, at first glance Rahm has a bad rating. Then if you take the time to open up the ratings and actually look at them you will see that he is a lot of times either in the center or to the right of many of his Dem. colleagues. Which obviously goes along with what i have been saying about him. But then if you look even further, you will see that Ron Paul, who is more of a true conservative (or classical liberal of OS) than any of these people is usually rated as a middle of the pack conservative. Basically what is happening is that all of these ratings services seem to be run by Socialists, or Neo-Cons, and niether of these groups know up from down. End of rant. |

Man, I love your fuck you attitude towards the RNC  . People such as yourself that have the resources to get things done, are what the party needs to bring people back to your party. |
