Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

if you read that in the IDS its because they don't know what they're talking about. someone works in the athletic ticket office (cough me). we went over the 7k mark last night. we were at 4k about two weeks ago, but tom crean made a few appearances and it spiked considerably. currently theres about 1,000 tickets available for the public, and those will likely be gone before dec. 1st.
Cool. I think a friend of mine said he saw it on Peegs (hence, I should have never believed it). Thats good, 4k for an IU student section sounded ridiculously low, regardless of price and how good the team is.

That'll be huge for this team and program. The more student support the better.
yeah, it was pretty disappointing that we had to extend the deadline, but next season when we will have the possibility of being ranked pre-season, all of the out of state kids will jump back on the bandwagon. them and the northeastern girls who come to the games, text on their blackberries, and then leave. obnoxious. the best part about this season is it's going to be all true IU fans.
Doubt they'll be preseason ranked, but the top 5 or 10 recruiting class will definitely help spike interest. The same thing happened at Purdue. Recruiting hype gets the fair weather fans out in droves.
yeah. what baffles me the most is that we have a waiting list of about 18,000 for season tickets, but the ticket office claims that they have to be in the alumni/adult section. it's bullcrap because a lot those people have been on the list for 10+ years and they're diehard IU fans, but the fair weather students get first dibs.
Yeah, 9,000 student tickets for a what 17,500 seat stadium is pretty outrageous if you ask me. I think Purdue is at like 6000 student tickets for 14,123 stadium. And we had to cut off student ticket sales.

If you lower the student ticket number, make it a first come first serve thing starting on a certain date, I think you would get the diehard students plus more of the diehard alums would have a chance. Plus, you wouldn't get as many empty seats for the Christmas break games when students are off campus.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

yeah, our christmas break games usually sell out regardless, but probably not this year. it give the diehard fans a chance to come to some games, but i'd definitely be contempt with cutting the section, especially after this season. Those people who have been on the waitlist for so long deserve it. what we REALLY need is a bigger stadium, which is in the works..

I don't know if our Christmas Break games sell out or not but they definitely weren't full last year. If I remember correctly I think we were going through some pretty terrible weather at the time, but I can tell you most of the balcony was available.

Roth, Dumes, Jones, and Story can shoot it well. Williams will be a streak shooter. It would be hard to imagine a night where we can't have atleast two guys with a hot hand.

Hard to imagine, but it will definitely happen a few times throughout the season. Especially when we face teams with big powerful guards who run in your face defense.

Second exhibition game is Tuesday against Bemidji State. Believe they are a D2 team from Minnesota. Bad D2, though, went like 6-21 last year.

Since I didn't watch the game, I'm going to say everyone. 101 points, even though it was against former HS Marion County bench players, is pretty impressive. I figured it'd be in the 70s.

Anyone know anything about the next exhibition team? D2 or D3?
but Crean is going to have a bunch of guards "WALK" the ball down the court according to Paint Chips.

seriously - have you ever watched any sports?
