Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Eric Arnett (pitcher) and Kipp Schutz (outfielder) of the IU baseball team are currently being looked at to walk on to the basketball team. Schutz is 6'4" and Arnett is 6'5". Both played in high school and seem to be very good athletes. If they do make the squad, I'm not sure how long they will be able to stay on, as I'm sure baseball practice starts up sometime early next semester. Seems like these are the kind of swing forward type players Crean may have been looking for to walk on, but who knows. Maybe they'll play through Christmas or so and then we'll pick up a football player or two (Belcher?).

I went to school with Kipp Schutz and followed him all the way up to high school at Evansville Harrison. He is a great guy, but I seriously think he should just focus on baseball. In high school, he was one of the best baseball players in the city and always hit the ball when he came up to bat.

But he was not a basketball star in high school. He always had the potential being 6'4", a good defender, and a strong 3-point shooter. But Kipp was very inconsistent and never met up to his potential. He had one game I remember from his senior year where he looked like a star, but he had a hard time just cracking double digits in other games.

Seriously, stick with baseball, Kipp!!!

Not real sure they would want to. One thing IU has this year is alot of guard/wing players so i dont really see where these guys would see much playing time.

I don't think they being looked at for playing time. They are being looked at so that Crean can field a "scout team" so to speak and the starters have someone to practice against who will run their opponents plays.
