Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

A little off topic, but still. Michigan State #2? NFW.

I can see it now.

Is MSU fielding a team this year? Check.
Is Izzo still coach? Check.
Do they still have stomach flu boy? Nope.
Well, we better drop them to #2 just to be safe, they lost some talent.

No. 2 Michigan State: Regrouping from sour ending
by Jeff Goodman, FOXSports.com
Updated: November 8, 2008, 4:36 PM Season Outlook

Michigan State looked like anything but a team capable of advancing to a Final Four this season when the Spartans were humiliated by Memphis in the Sweet 16 last March.

At one point, Tom Izzo's team was down, 50-20.

Then you toss in the fact that the starting guard, Drew Neitzel, graduated and how in the world can I have Michigan State at No. 2 in the country?

This year's Spartans will be better.

Neitzel didn't play well for much of the season and now Izzo will be forced to go with guys like Chris Allen and Durrell Summers — freshmen a year ago. Michigan State was overmatched by the bigger, stronger Memphis wings and had no answer.

Allen and Summers have a year under their belt now and are both athletic and strong.

But this team will have multiple options.

Sophomore Kalin Lucas is extremely quick and took little time to establish himself as one of the top young floor leaders in the country.

wow, I think MSU is going to be good, but I guess that makes me lose credibility too. kalin lucas will be an elite point guard in the big ten with his elusive speed. raymar morgan is a certain all-big ten selection, and a good candidate for big ten player of the year, suton is the BEST rebounder in the big ten , and they add a talented freshman class to that mix. oh yeah, and i forgot, they have one of the best coaches in the nation..

I am not saying they won't be good, But #2?

No fucking way.

I will officially send an apology to Izzo if I am wrong, but I am not gonna buy any stationary right now.

maybe not #2, but i'd bet a good deal of money they'll be big ten champions at the end of the season.

I think you can find that bet in Vegas if you are really that confident.

I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

We'll all see how good Delvon Roe is soon enough. I'd say there's good odds that he'll be Big Ten FOY over OSU's top freshmen. Even if he's great, I still doubt MSU is a top 5 team.

Izzo doesn't expect him to be 85% until BT play. So you could imagine what he'll be like before that. Microfracture surgery takes a LONG time to get over, especially when he spent most of his recovery time in HS, not as a professional who's only job and responsibility is to get your knee healthy.

He'll be an impact, but he won't be the instant impact that Mullens will be.

I don't know if MSU is a top 5 team. They'll still struggle to score points at times, and I'm not completely convinced of Raymar Morgan being a lead player on a big time winner.

I didn't realize they expected that lengthy of a recovery. Mullens will definitely be good, but Roe seems like the type of player that once his healthy will definitely be on some highlight reels.

As of the first week of November, he wasn't able to practice every day. He hasn't played a game in 9 and a half months. He has all the skills, but its going to take time. Look at Oden right now. When he is right though, Roe is an absolute handful. He's going to be a good player for probably 2 maybe 3 seasons, then I think he'll be taking his game to the NBA.

Unless he has recurring injuries, I can't see him staying more than 2 years.
