Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

UK was too sloppy in this game. They had 7 turnovers in less than 5 minutes into the game. Their defense was flat out horrible. Even though, VMI was draining 3s, you'd think that UK would try to apply more pressure around the arc. Hell No!!! They were still giving up wide open shots and easy shots in the paint.

No, this is not one of the better UK teams. But they return Patterson, Stevenson, and Meeks. They have two stellar recruits in Liggins and Miller. They aren't a bunch of freshmen like IU. There is no excuse for UK getting owned in their own stadium by a low level mid-major team for the second year straight. VMI isn't even expected to be one of the top teams in the Big South this season.

P.S.

not to stick up for Kentucky or anything, but the other team did shoot the lights out...

49% from the field (35-72)
45% from 3 (14-31)
77% from the free throw (27-35)

Ky on the other hand...

54% from the field (39-72 )
19% from 3 (3-16 )
66% from the free throw (22-33 )

On what planet is shooting 49% 'shooting the lights out'? That's simply a good night, but nothing spectacular. 77% from the line is good, but certainly nothing that would make you do any kind of double take...
in most cases, 49% is not spectacular, however, when you take everything into consideration, including 3's, including FT's....

they were not missing a lot of shots.

and in MY opinion, they were shooting the lights out.

consider this, when was the last time you saw a mid major put up 111 points against a top D1 program????

to add fuel to the fire, they didnt even score for 4+ mins in the 2nd half at one point.

i'm sorry if we disagree, but VMI did play a hell of a game

I'd still only give it maybe a 10% chance of happening.
