Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I watched the game but didn't hear it, but if it is indeed true i think its a little ridiculous to be chanting that when Purdue is playing their second regular season game against EMU. While it is great to have a better team than IU this year, that just isn't necessary. Against IU... shout away! But otherwise it just looks a little stupid. Thats just my personal opinion tho.
I agree, Melching, nobody ever said there aren't a few idiots in W Lafayette. 99.9% of Purdue fans are too busy thinking about making a late March/April run to spend any time thinking about IU's rebuilding process.

The "IU sucks" chant is directed toward the 100 or so IU fans that made the trip to W. Lafayette in hopes of seeing some good basketball.

Don't take it personally, UB. Everyone knows that you elect to blow rather than suck

Turdue needs all the bodies they can get to fill up the Mackey Silo.

pretty bad when you can't sell out the 13k bandbox to watch your team of the century. IU's worst team in 70 years will outdraw the turdue manure sniffers.

LMFAO

Its not a long drawn out chant, its said one time, at the end of one of the songs that the band plays. It is what it is, I don't participate, and most don't, but whatever. If it helps some of you guys sleep at night to think Purdue people and fans are obsessed and consider you guys our big brother, then by all means, believe it. I think THAT is more sad than saying "IU Sucks" once a game at the end of the same song the band plays every game.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Hey, I don't care for it, it doesn't really do anything. The chant has absolutely no meaning behind it. After its said the one time, IU is the furthest thing from anyone's mind. Some people dislike their rival, whippidy fucking do.

This is the biggest non-issue, worthless discussion in the history of this board. So, I'm out.

If it's the song I'm thinking of then this is a play off of what IU does at their football games (and now bball too I think).

It's Go Big Red and a lot of the students have changed the words to say "Hey You Suck". If that's the case then I agree with Cam that's its not really an obsession thing, but I do think it is pathetic that

1) They changed the words like we did

2) They couldn't come up with anything original to say

Here's a video of the song I'm talking about. At the end they say, "Fuck em up Fuck em up, Go Big Red"

If this is the song then Purdue fans seriously need to be a bit more creative. If not, then pretty much ignore this entire post.

I honestly couldn't tell you the name of the song. I pay about as much attention to the band during a basketball game as I do to the fat girl in a group of 4 other attractive ladies. Like I said, I don't care for any chant referencing IU, whether its original or not, but if some people want to chant their disliking for their rivals once a game, then by all means, go right ahead.

Really? That's actually a shame. I think the band is part of what makes college sports so fun. IU's band plays some good shit during the games. I definitely enjoy having them there.

I don't dislike the band, I just don't pay much attention to what they are doing most of the time. I enjoy the halftime shows at football games, and I definitely think its a good thing that they are at games, I've just never gotten into what they were doing. When I'm at a game, I try to pay attention to all the intricacies of the game, including players' body language during timeouts, how the coaches interact with their players, and so on. I try to take in as much about the actual game and teams as I can. There is always so much going on, even during a TV timeout.
