Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

Being second best in a basketball rich state like Indiana is nothing to be ashamed about. Krean has you on pace to be there in another 3-4 years.
And thats the whole Idea of Purdue Basketball, oh, its okay because if we are in Indiana and only the second best its okay. Why?
If you can be the best why not just say it, or become it.

And then to turn around and try to say something good about IU basketball, If I was a Purdue fan i would have already taken advantage of the situation, because with the way the majority of Purdue People act it may not be like that forever, soon Purdue will be just fine and dandy with 2nd place,

Which is something to be ashamed about, never settle for less, never....

you're kidding right? IU will have a guard oriented offense and will be running like crazy. If you were indicating the speed of the offenses with your pictures, you are a dumbass.

My guess is that the author of the article was talking more about the way that Purdue is moving its program forward. Playing with mostly Indiana born kids, playing like a team, motion offense, tough man to man defense, and striving to doing things the right way, both on the court and in the classroom. Does that remind anyone of a powerful program from the 70s and 80s?
There's definitely some similarities. Just remember that those Knight team's didn't do to well in the modern era....

What exactly do you think Purdue does? We play 3 guards and a swing 4 man.

Our adjusted tempo/pace according to kenpom last year was ranked a tad higher than Marquette's from last year. And Marquette had 3 very, very good guards on his team last year.

Crean isn't bringing in some crazy new philosophy to the Big Ten.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

There aren't any Purdue people that think we are the new IU or even want to be the new IU.

Your arrogance is duly noted though.

read my post again. it's not like i'm saying purdue's offense sucks. but his picture of IU's offense is a broken down train compared to a fast super train or something for Purdue. I said if he is calling IU's offense slow, it's obviously a dumb post.

It did score 60 points tonight against an average Summit League team.

true, but that doesn't indicate how fast we moved up and down the court. to clear everything up, my post was about how fast IU's offense is, which is pretty fast considering we are guard oriented. my post wasn't saying IU's offense is good, far from it really.

IU's pace was about 62 tonight by my calculations (using kenpom's formula, Brum could probably give you a closer idea of what it was but I think I did it properl), which is not very good. That would have put them at about 310 last year. The pace was faster against NW St. though, but to me, it seemed like NW St. was pushing the pace most of the

Crean's teams in the past have played fast and slow. You can be guard oriented and play slow.
