Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

The Sportsnation Question on Espn CBB homepage is: How long will it take Indiana Basketball to return to prominence?

Within two or three years

within 5 yrs

within a decade

more than a decade

depends on what you call prominence.

if you call it the national stage i said within two to three seasons.

if you call it in contention for a championship i said within 5 seasons.

Anybody with knowledge of the game wouldn't go past the within 5 years choice.

If so, fuck em', they don't follow IU enough to judge.

I may be called a homer for this one but I say not this year but the following season, 2010-2011, we will be good enough to compete for the Big 10 title and make a run in March.

I disagree for two reasons Mongo: Chemistry & Experience

We will be more of a complete team next season definitely. But the big's we're bringing in will just be freshmen straight out of high school.

I could see us competing in the Big Ten, but as for a run through March.. I think team chemistry will be lacking compared to other teams.

I'm calling it, the season AFTER next, we will be in prime contention. Pritch, Roth, Story, Jones and Williams will all be upperclassmen and Watford, Elston, Manuri, Capobianco, and Creek will have a season in Creans system under their belts.

But, with all that being said... I wouldn't mind if you were right Mongo. Jeremiah Rivers will hopefully give the team a much needed experienced guard to guide the younger ones to excellence.

Anything is possible in this new regime under Crean. It's going to be fun watching it all unfold. =]

I suppose I should correct my wording. I may have said next season but if you look I also said 2010-2011, which would be the season after next, or two seasons away. I think we'll be decent next year but not great.

I say when Watford, Elston, Creek, and company will be sophomores. Williams, Story, Pritchard, and company will be juniors and Rivers will be a senior and provide senior leadership. I say will will be ranked in the top 10, challenge for a B10 title, and could goes as far as the elite 8. Next year we will finish 6th or higher in the B10 (I say actually 4th or 5th) and could make the big dance and an outside shot to be ranked in the top 25, but probably not likely. I say we would more likely be a bubble team next year.

enemy, I see it happening before 5 years actually. Give it 2 man, we'll be back in contention. Think about it...

Pritchard(jr)/Jobe(jr)/Manuri(soph)
Watford(soph)/Elston(soph)/Capobianco(soph)
Story(jr)/Creek(soph)/Roth(jr)
Williams(jr)/Jones(jr)
Rivers(sr)/Hulls(soph)/Moore(jr)

Thats a pretty talented club man, and by that time they'll have some good chemistry. Senior Jeremiah Rivers will have 3 years in Creans system running the show. That's a loaded team in my mind if the team is gelled how I expect them to.

6'9, 6'7, 6'5, 6'4, 6'5 starting lineup and bench we have 7'0, 6'11, 6'8, 6'8, 6'5, 6'5 , and 6'0. Decent sized team too. I'm excited, seriously, 2 years we'll be back in it.

Yeah 2010-2011, two seasons away, I think we can finish top 3 in the Big 10, get a 4-7 seed and maybe make a Sweet 16/Elite 8 run. That team will be pretty deep and have some experience under their belts. The question is will IU fans not be retarded and be patient to give Crean the time he needs. I hope so, because he's our guy.
