Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Pretty amazing how some guys come into college weighing too much (Dexter Pittman of Texas, Pierre Niles of Memphis, and Joevan Catron of Oregon) and some guys come in not weighing enough (Jones and Hummel).
Hummel didn't weigh enough? I'd say JuJuan Johnson was the one who didn't weigh enough. I think Hummel was a pretty good size last year for what he was asked to do.
I thought you posted that he gained 20 pounds over the summer. He's 208 lbs right now, so he would have been in the 180s last season. For a guy that is 6'8", that is too light. And yeah, JaJaun Johnson is another perfect example.
Hummel was 200 last year, and the article I read stated that he was up to 218. I'm not sure what he is officially listed at. Here is the article that I read:

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

OK, he had a good excuse.

But Johnson is still a good example. B)

Johnson is a perfect example. If he ever gets to 6'10 and 225-235 while continuing to get physically strong, he'll be an absolute monster.

Head injuries usually don't have anything to do with strength or weight. The kid took a direct shot to the temple from that dude's shoulder...

Understandable, but you don't see Shaq dropping to the floor after a blow to the head, the kid needs to get bigger

He was released from the hospital last night. All tests were negative and there wasn't any serious injury. He'll be fine.

I don't wish bad on any of these kids. I also don't know what it says for me but every year there's a player that I gravitate toward in a negitive way. This year it's Jones. I think he's caught between a point and shooting guard. He can't beat out a walk on, on a team with no returning talent. He's a turnover machine and I'll be honest I've been hit harder by my girlfriend.

Last year I didn't like Bassett in the first five. I was right then and I'm right now.

Story
William
Dumes
Moore

That's our best five.
