Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Happened to notice that Chester Frazier, Raymar Morgan, and Marquis Gray all lost the braids in the offseason. (Kellen Lewis as well).

Big Ten mandate? Or just coincidence? I can't think of any other guys off the top of my head that still have them....

Desmond Tardy, Anthony Heygood, Arsenio Curry, Joe Whitest, and Gerald Gooden all played and had braids for Purdue's football team.

I also think braids in general are being seen less and less. I'm fairly certain that Carmelo dumped the braids. AI seems to be one of the few true superstars anymore that have them.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I dream of having the fro come back but it still hasn't happened. If I was black I'd definitely have a badass fro

I was watching an Illinois game over break and they said that Chester Frazier's teammates refer to him as Coach Frazier, and he got rid of the braids to appear as more of a leader.

Tattoos are forever.

UConn's Hasheem Thabeet got rid of his braids as well. Guess they're going out of style.

I remember in high school our basketball coach never wanted players to have braids and long hair including fros.

I can't wait for the flat top to make a comeback. The Jennings kid that went to Europe had it for awhile and a kid that Purdue played against in the Detroit game had one.

I've already seen a few hoops players this year with it. Great look. Very Jim Jackson/ old-school 'Zo.

No, Counzo Martin had the shaved head. You must be talking about "the other Zo" ;)

As for braids, I hope this isn't the end of it, I've always liked the look. If I was black I definitely would have it.
