Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Bowling Green has some interest in the Brockster for their head coaching vacancy. Beyond that , it's all rumors now. Don't know if dc has seen anything new. Thoughts ?

Everything I've seen from Spack points to him returning. After the IU game, he bluntly said, I"ll be back next year.

That said, if he gets a chance to be a head coach, I wouldn't blame him for going. I hope he stays though, he's Purdue through and through.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I hope Spack leaves and gets some head coaching experience. Hope will only be around 4-6 years. If he wins he will be offered a better job. If he doesn't he will be gone. Spack gets some experience he will be ready in 5 years

If Hope doesn't work out, then we need to go outside the Tiller tree. This was Spack's chance to be the head coach at Purdue, and I don't think Burke was confident in his abilities as head coach. I'll trust Burke's decision.

I really hope Spack sticks around, he's a good guy for this program.

That defense played well enough to win us 9 games this season.

Spack is horrible I have hated his play calling since day 1. His best defense was 2003 and somewhat in 2004 yet he returned like 9 players and we had the worst defense in the big 10.... I can not wait till he is gone.

Don't hold your breath, unless he gets a head job somewhere, Spack is going to be here for a good amount of time.

The '02-'04 defenses were outstanding. The entire '05 team just chocked on the big one, they were a bunch of head cases. After that, Spack hasn't had very much talent, yet this season, our defense was top 5 during BT play.

Also, Spack has been one of our better recruiters and was the LB coach when players like Niko, Johnson, and Gardener came in as unheralded recruits, and became NFL draft picks.

I don't know about guys who graduated that year, but Phillips, Terrill, Niko, Landon Johnson, Gilbert Gardener, Reeves, Rodgers, Pollard, and Stu all started and played in the NFL. I'm not sure who the other starting end was, but Edwards, Ninkovich, and Spencer played and made the NFL. I'm also not sure of the other DT.

That was a very talented defense, but a lot of that can be credited to Spack. He was the position coach for the three LBs and he was the lead recruiter for Stu.

Spack is horrible.

I'll give you that they were better this year then last, especially considering it was a much more difficult schedule but the defense has been middle of the road at best.

Our tackling is horrible, the D has been consistantly horrible at tackling for years and years. If I had a dollar for everytime I had to yelll "TACKLE HIM" at the TV, i'd be richer than Bill Gates instead of working for Microsoft.

If they can find some kind of underling to teach the team how to tackle and how have some better penetration then I'll be willing to keep Spack.

I think we can expect the offense to be stagnant for atleast another year so we better have some D to stay in games.

Rogers graduated in well played on the 04 team. Pollard and Williams left after 05. Niko, Johnson, Gilbert, Phillips, Stu, Reeves, Terril all went to the NFL in 04.

Spack was on fire in 03 and early 04. 05 the team after the Minny loss melted down. The D was a liabilty until this year. Injuries and attitude have killed the D since 2005.
