Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

He's staying. Bowling Green hired the ex- offensive coordinator from Tennessee.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

no he's not going anywhere. he will be here for the next 50 years calling the same shitty defense
That defense played well enough to win us 9 games this season.
Alright they played pretty good this year, I have to admit. But what about the last 3 years? Look at all those yards/points put up against us by CMU! CMU! Come on already

like I said-another year of shitty defensive play calling.

>.........We got you in 3rd and 17. No way to convert this one. Oh wait-there's a 8 yard pass and 20 yard run to convert a first down. Where was the secondary? Oh yeah-Spacks calling the defense. We don't have any.

Best pass defense in the league during B10 play.

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I know they played well this year. I was really referring to the last couple years. I really hope that Spack's defense can keep this up. I remember when Purdue's defense led the Big10 in pass defense in the early 2000's. Maybe we are seeing a resurgence in the D! I love the stats.

Stats don't always tell everything though. Opponents generally didn't need to throw the ball against us. They typically had good field position to start with and were more focused on clock management, rather than putting points on the board.

But one thing is for certain: our defense is not the reason we went 4-8.

Best pass defense because you sorted by total yards... Notice that purdue also had the fewest passing attempts, which would lead me to believe either their rush defense was poor or their opponents rarely had to throw the ball towards the end of games.

I didn't watch enough of Purdue to judge, but that's some fuzzy math.

We were fourth in total defense also.
