We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Much better than being a badwagonner on a shit team that hasn't accomplished anything in 20 years. (Queue the "that's better than never accomplishing anything" standard response.) |

Purdue was ranked in the top five multiple times in the mid-nineties en route to back-to-back-to-back BTC's. |

And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed Meat is Murder. Sweet, delicious murder. | |

Probably so, Keady's best teams definitely choked in the big game. I always saw Keady as a program builder, and not really a great tactician and game coach, which is where Purdue was at a disadvantage in the tournament. Knight on the other hand, was a brilliant tactician and in game coach, and probably won the '81 and '87 championship because of that. The '76 team was just an amazing team, that Knight helped, but they would have won it all with quite a few other coaches. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I only vaguely remember the 1988 team, but none of Keady's teams since then were good enough to win it all. He did have three teams since then that might have been good enough to make the Final Four ('94, '98, '00) but they came up short. I wouldn't say it was poor coaching in game situations or choking...just that NBA talent prevails come tournament time. Keady never had more than one true NBA talent on his team. Unless you count Brian Cardinal, then he did have two during the 1998 season. During Keady's best years at Purdue, I never thought we had a good enough team to win it all. |

Keady always did more with less and vice versa. The '88 team was good enough to win it but I think that's the only year we truly had a realistic chance at a NC. |
