Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

That was based on preseason. Those posts were mid-december. Martin was very good in the preseason but was significantly less productive once big ten play started. Thats not taking anything away from him, I still wouldn't mind having him on the team but all that hype that you just posted was all based on his numbers from pre season.

he was hands down Turdue's best player against IU. without him, they lose by 25.

Sour grapes? I said I would rather have him on the team than not. With that said, he had 12 points and 3 boards vs IU last year. Hardly irreplaceable. Would have lost by 25 without him? HA

You cant even argue the fact that his non conference stats were significantly better than his big ten stats.

Martin was putting up better numbers than Hummel and Moore in the non conference games and even looked like the best of the 3 recruits at times. However, once the tougher competition started, Hummel and Moore were playing much better than Martin. Showed they were better by playing better agianst tougher competition.

This is what I posted yesterday:

" ummm...no. Martin was the seventh man on a 25-9 team before he transferred. He was the least productive of the four freshman. Could be because of his injury or it could be that he wasn't happy with his role, but was typically a non-factor when it came to wins and losses.

He was arguably the team's best player during the preseason, but once the real season started he fell off the radar
"

One year ago from now, Martin was starting and was leading the team in points, rebounds, and minutes played. In February and March, he averaged only 6.4 ppg and 3.3 rpg in 17.6 minutes. He was out with injury during Purdue's win at Wisconsin. He had no impact on the team's wins and losses after January 1.

That's what we would say if he transferred now. If his averages drop to 6 ppg and 3 rpg the next two months and then transferred, we would say he was a disappointment his sophomore season.

For the illiterate fucks that post on this board (for whatever reason):

I said on December 14, 2007 that Martin so far was our best player. At that time, he was leading the team with 12.4 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, and 29.3 minutes per game. At season's end, his averages were 8.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, and 21.9 mpg. You be the judge as to whether or not his play dropped significantly. I would feel sorry for any Gomer wannabe fan who says it didn't.

I know it's very hard for some people to imagine, but things change between December 14 and March 22. Look at IU. They went from getting blown out by Xavier to getting blown out by Arkansas. Okay, bad example.

didn't Martin get a bad case of Mono in the second semester that really weakened him?
