There is some good basketball being played today/tonight at Southport HS. The marquee games are the two night caps. North Central with Terone Johnson and D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera play Lafayette Jeff and Jesse Berry who is averaging 30+ a game. Thats a 7 PM tip-off. After that game, Lawrence North with Purdue commit Jeff Robinson, Purdue target Ryan Taylor ('10 class who is as much of a target as Teague), Louisville commits Stephen Van Treese and Justin Martin, and UK commit Dominique Ferguson plays Fort Wayne Luers and 2010 stud DeShaun Thomas. Should be some good basketball, I may or may not go. If I do, I'll let you guys know what I see. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Their guards aren't very good. They just have so much size. They are bringing two, three, maybe four D1 players off the bench. And they have a sophomore with D1 offers playing JV. |

Just read that Ryan Taylor from LN had this stat line on Saturday: 9 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks and 2 steals in only 22 minutes He is in the same class as Teague. He's sort of a tweener, as he is a 3/4 type player but is only 6'6ish. But he is also an elite athlete, so he makes up for any height problems there. Him and Teague are 1a and 1b as targets in Purdue's 2011 class, which shows you how highly Purdue thinks of Taylor. Edited by dçamden03, Dec 15 2008, 11:01 AM.

don't worry, if every player isn't a D-1 prospect yet, they'll just recruit some to fill the gaps. |

Thats how it goes with the township schools of Indianapolis. And the funny part is that the parochial schools get accused of it more than anyone else. Its quite comical. |

yeah, it is really ironic. it's especially funny when lawrence people play cathedral and accuse cathedral of cheating. i mean the indy area catholic schools are the traditional recruiters, but the torch has definitely been passed to the township schools. |

I wouldn't say Indy area Catholic schools. I'd say Cathedral and Brebuef. Ritter, Roncalli, Scecina, and Chatard have student populations made up of probably 99% kids who went to a Catholic grade school. Roncalli won three straight state titles (and loss the title game by a point the fourth year) with a roster made up of nearly all kids from their feeder schools. I think Roncalli had like 3 out of a roster of 80 something kids who were from a public grade school. |
