Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Your new sig made me lol.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

hey now, Rod was my boy, if you don't recall though, he blocked David Teague's would be game-winning shot in a very entertaining IU/PU game.

Rod is fucking awesome, love the sig Tim. Very nice!

Also, Evil, considering NW just beat the Sparties on the road, losing to NW at their place is hardly an embarrassment. Stop living in the past, and embrace the situation we're in.

I liked Wilmont as a player, it was just completely random.

I don't recall that game though, I have tried to black out Keady's last season and Painter's first season from my memory. Same way with the back half of the 2004 Purdue football season.

I don't care about wins and losses. I care about how guys are progressing. Crean signed all these guys with the intention of them being contributors in the coming years. When game after game, I watch the same guys dribbling out of control into double teams, missing free throws, making bonehead decisions, etc...it makes me question why some of those guys were given scholarships in the first place.

NW beating MSU on the road pretty much solidifies my contention(all along) that the BT is weak at the top. The rest of college basketball is also weak, which makes the BT look a little better than what they should be. Think of all the talent that left last year coupled with the few impact players that were added this year. You can't tell me a sub .500 Illinois team that added very little is suddenly a legit top 20 team in the country. Look at MINN, they have been playing horribly yet the voters can't find any teams to take their place. That only happens when the level of play to be considered a top 20 team declines.

In 2 years college basketball will be tough because there are fewer guys who have the ability to leave early. This will promote more teams of Juniors/Seniors, which I'm sure everyone will agree leads to better overall play.

you know, I can't place my finge r on which specific year it was. I want to say it was Rod's sophomore year, maybe junior year. and im pretty sure it was keady's last year.

correct me if i am wrong, but wasn't painter's first trip to IU a complete blowout, where Joey Shaw went off?

Fair enough, I'm not going to argue with most of that. I too, agree that the BigTen is not a power conference that many make it out to be. It's just not. But besides Jobe, I don't really have a problem with the scholarships that we've given out. Sure, there were a lot, but I trust that Crean knows more about than we do, and is making good decisions for the future of our program.

And while we're still not there yet, I do believe we are getting better most games. Sure, there are still a TON of mistakes that make we want to rip my hair out, but with no experience whatsoever, and nobbody to turn to for that, they're learning as they go. It's going to be a long, painful, process, but we're getting there.

Regardless, I still don't think a 7 point loss would be an embarrassment whatsoever. As long as we go out there and compete, I'll cool with it. An embarrassment to me is having a team full of talent with no heart, sans a few players, like last years' team. A can handle a rough stretch this year, because I know there are greener pastures in the not so distant future.

I remember the Shaw game, im not sure if it was Keadys last or Painters first, i do remember in one of those years Purdue going to IU and it being a close game and the only thing i remember from the game is Matt Keifer on a break away dunking the ball then the ball hit his head and came out and didnt count. Anyone else remember that play.

I see what you are saying and I agree that a team of talent with no heart would be worse. I guess I just don't see as much improvement as you do, with the exception of Williams.
