Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

i think donovan has NBA written all over him. what you said makes sense, especially considering the bulk of recruits in alabama. i'd like to see what alabama's basketball recruiting budget is. i bet it perils in comparison to football -- but it can't be too small considering bama's school size.

I'm sure its nicely sized. Plus, when you are bringing basketball recruits in September to a 90k football stadium to watch a game, its a little different than bringing them to Ross-Aide or Memorial Stadium. Good football helps basketball, as does good basketball help with football.

Reminds of the situation at UT bwith Pearl. His early recruits weren't top recruits, but just really athletic. He's starting to get a lot of better players now.

A school like Bama/UGA/Auburn need a coach that plays that style of play to really turn a program around. Heck, Donovan did similar things at UF. Those early teams pressed and ran a lot.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

not to mention all the schools in the south seem to play that style. for instance, if he brought that system to indiana the fans would cry foul -- but if you don't run that style in the south recruits will look right through you.

Most definitely.

I was secretly rooting for IU to get Pearl. The first time he brought a bunch of kids on the court with headbands and socks up their knees would have me rolling on the floor laughing. Some of the people in this state would have flipped out.

boilergrad and tim,

thanks for the kind words. i thought this place would be a one month wonder. i had no clue it would be going this strong a year into it. it surprises me every time i come on here.

but really, it's all of you guys that make this place worth visiting. otherwise it'd just be me on here pushing my liberal agenda.
