Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

i've talked to jazen about this quite a bit. we have a solid base of regulars that give us over 100 posts a day on average overall. realistically, regs will fall off at a slow rate. i want this board to exist for a long, long time. i'd love to see it go on a 15, 20, even 30 year run (who knows what technology will be around then). i want to see this place have more users than scout/rivals and remain not-for-profit.

yet, i always want to keep the integrity of this place. i don't want a million homers posting. i don't want a million trolls. i want down-to-earth, pure college sports fans to use this as a medium to learn and discuss.

so, let's make it happen...otherwise, this place will slowly turn into a fond memory. i can't do it on my own.

You could ask the IU/Purdue blogs for some help.

http://hoosierreport.blogspot.com/
www.boiledsports.com
www.offthetracks.org

are the ones I know of off the top of my head.

would inside the hall plug us?
i thought about it but lost hope when they started their own message board type of deal.

i love ITH and i know they have lots of diehard readers from this site. problem is, it's a conflict of interest.

it's baby-steps. i think the IDS would be a good start. then ITH. then further. but we need to be creative with it. i don't want it to be "here's another board to talk all things hoosier sports." i want us to have a reputation of being the upper-echelon of sports talk when it comes to hoosier/purdue sports.

This message board smashes any of the Rivals/Scout message boards that I've ever read. There aren't a better group of posters around.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

and as far as technology is concerned, this board is light years ahead of any other basketball board i've ever seen. the ease of use is ridiculous.

i agree. i swear...any member who gets a screenshot of them on national TV with an ourhoosierboard.com sign held high gets total recognition. that'll bring a TON of posters on board and your screenname would be the first one they see.

I do spend a lot of my free time here, especially since I've moved back to Indy. But then again, I got class 4 days a week and work 3 days a week.

craigslist is great. we advertise job openings on there and get about 30 responses a day.
