I say it is about damn time she got back on here. :sarcasm: It took a snow day for her to post, but we will take what we get. Noticed she and others were on here late last night. I gave up at 11:30. I get up at 5:15 AM, that isn't much sleep. She is probably off work again today and still sleeping. Now she needs to start posting on the Other Sports board because all Reds fans need all the help we can get to fight off the Cubs and Cards fans. I predict the RedsSuck thread will start up about May 15th.   Hopefully later though. |

the reds will finish above the cubs and cards this year. best pitching staff in the central now that cc and ben sheets have moved on. also, for the first time in about 6 yrs the corner outfielders can actually run and catch. |

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I'm a pretty big reds fan just like yourself hoosierdade, but i don't see the Reds finishing above the cubs and probably not above the cards. I'd also have to say they have the second best staff behind the cubs right now, but could eventually be better later in the year if cueto and harang step up their performances from last year. They aren't quiet good enough to compete for the division yet, but just wait until bruce, votto, cueto, volquez, and all the other young guys mature. |

whats so funny, harang, volquez and cueto are all POSSIBLE 20 game winners. with arroyo pitching in another 12-15, why wouldnt they be better. there offense is improved by losing the 300 plus strikeouts of dunn/griffey. there outfield defense is vastly improved with bruce/taveras/dickerson/gomes over griffey/patterson/dunn. gonzalez is back healthy at shortstop and they upgraded at catcher. just my opinion, though, if im wrong, theres always next year. damn, now i sound like a cubs fan. ;) |

I stopped reading at Cueto and Harang being 20 game winners. All 4 pitched last year, are they all going to have career years at the same time? Your starting OF batted .251, .254, and .302 (albeit in only 100 ABs). |

if he improves on last year at all, volquez and zambrano are a wash. last year, zambrano 14-6 3.91, volquez 17-6 3.21. being a reds fan, u really think dempster has another year in him like last year, or does he revert to his reds days. cueto, will improve just by being a year older, and harang will more than likely improve on his bad year last year. i just think the cubs have more question marks at starting pitching than the reds do. imo: volquez=zambrano harang>harden cueto> dempster arroyo< lilly |

i love great american ballpark. i had the pleasure of driving over last june when the redsox were in town. the sox hit 4 homeruns in 3 innings off "homer" bailey. beckett threw a shutout and the sox won 11-0. beer was $7 for a 20 oz, but the park is beautiful. |

harang won 16 games twice on terrible teams. he is definitely capable of winning 20 on a decent team. cueto, i will give you is the unknown, but from watching him, i just think he has the best stuff of all the reds pitchers if he can put it together. remember, i said capable of winning 20, cueto has the stuff to win 20 games, if he puts it all together. as far as the outfield, that as good or better than what they had last yr, and these guys could actually improve and they play defense. |
