Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

if he improves on last year at all, volquez and zambrano are a wash. last year, zambrano 14-6 3.91, volquez 17-6 3.21. being a reds fan, u really think dempster has another year in him like last year, or does he revert to his reds days. cueto, will improve just by being a year older, and harang will more than likely improve on his bad year last year. i just think the cubs have more question marks at starting pitching than the reds do.
imo:
volquez=zambrano
harang>harden
cueto> dempster
arroyo< lilly
Volquez and cueto are too young and unproven to already say they are better than or equal to Zambrano and dempster, but could be at the end of the year if they progress ALOT. I don't think Harang is quite as good as harden, but it is close. The Reds' staff could be better than the cubs' if Harang pitches like he did before last year, volquez pitches as well or better than last year, and cueto improves alot. That is alot of if's

i hate the cubs. but harang is better than harden?

Update: Harden’s status for the upcoming season is apparently uncertain due to what sources allege is a slight tear in his rotator cuff, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Said pitching coach Larry Rothschild: ”His arm action’s good; he’s throwing free and easy…” But Rothschild continued: “He’s not close to throwing off a mound yet. There’s some issues there, no question.”

harang will give you around 16 wins in a normal year, harden needs to pitch a full year before we see if he can match that.

i love great american ballpark. i had the pleasure of driving over last june when the redsox were in town. the sox hit 4 homeruns in 3 innings off "homer" bailey. beckett threw a shutout and the sox won 11-0. beer was $7 for a 20 oz, but the park is beautiful.
I went to the Saturday game of that series. Hell of a ballgame. The pitching matchup was the ol' knuckleballer Tim Wakefield and the up and comer Eddison Volquez. The Reds were down by 1 in the bottom of the ninth and Edwin Encarnacion hit a two out bomb to left center. in the top of the tenth, the red sox had back to back home runs by Crisp and Youkilis.

i cheered for the Reds for once, because I hate every single aspect of Boston.

Hahaha, I am at work and I just got on and realized I have a whole thread with my name. Then as I read it, it turned into a baseball thread, lol. Oh well, thanks BG! I definitely did my part yesterday increasing posts, but today it is back to work. Yuck. Although my kids are still off school and it looks like they will be off tomorrow too. This snow was major.
Don't worry Dedicated I will stick by the Reds even when they start "sucking" ha, I always do.
HoosierDade, I saw in another post that you are from Lawrenceburg?? I thought that was funny, cause I am from Aurora and went to SDHS.

Oh no, a board rival! Haha. Do you still live in Lawrenceburg or have you moved away? I had Bengals season tickets for 6 years and this past season we didn't buy them and let the seats go. Best decision we ever made. The Bengals piss me off! I am a Colts fan as well as still rooting for the Bungals.

Yep, I have driven to Madison many a time for basketball and football games. Hate that drive, seems like it takes forever to get past the old proving grounds.
