Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

i hear ya. problem here is, obviously im out of work. financially im okay for awhile, no debt besides the house which my wife can pay, and unemployment pays the bills. (imagine that) all the time in the world and nothing to do.
"idle hands are the devil's workshop." my wife is about to kill me though. its funny. the laundry is done when she gets home and dinner is ready (im a killer cook) but she has a hang up about the beer in my hand. im like, "i didnt pay for it. my buddies on ourhoosierboard.com did. they have jobs. she just doesnt understand.
Hahaha, that's great. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'll definitely pick-up the tab on a night of drinking (but we won't be drinking natty light). You could always keep the beer in the snow, so she has no idea how many you've had.

My favorite alternative to beer is gin. The great thing about gin is that it looks like water or sprite. At business meetings, there's that unsaid rule where everyone looks at you funny if you have more than three drinks. So I can sit back and order two quadruple gins on the rocks and have the equivalent of 8 beers.

thats exactly what i do. or, in absense of snow, keep it in the bed of my truck.

good point. although, it could happen you know. its now 10:30 and im still going strong, albeit typing slower. BG, you could learn a lesson from this ole marine.
It definitely could happen. I've had all nighters where it was just some friends hanging out instead of a party. Either way, just seemed strange to be at the point of yakking and want to get on a message board. I haven't yakked in a long time, but I don't remember ever being at the point of puking and thought staring at a computer screen was a good idea.

I'm having a few beers tonight, but tomorrow I'll likely be drinking most of the day. My fiance's cousin, who was an Arabic translator in Iraq, is coming home tomorrow, so they're throwing a big party for her and her husband whose also in the Army and home from Iraq.

Good luck to you man-seriously. These are hard times for all. I hope something positive comes your way soon.

Take care=

Oh gin...I love it. I can drink a bottle of Tanqueray in a night and be moderately alright that night and have no hangover the next day. If I try the same with anything else (particularly tequila, even though I love the stuff), I'm cashed out in a corner and can't move till 5:00 pm the next day.

Right now I've got a 1/5 of Hendricks, 1/5 of Van Gogh, and a 1/2 Gallon of Tanqueray in my fridge.

Here's my gin rankings for those looking for a taste of something decent:

Hendricks
Martin Miller
Bombay Sapphire
Van Gogh
Tanqueray
Beefeater

I can only think of Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, Beefeaters, and New Amsterdam that I've had. As for the order, I'd go Tanqueray (preferably Rangur), New Amsterdam, Beefeaters, then Bombay Sapphire. Tanqueray Rangur is some damn good stuff.

Hendricks is probably the best gin I've had to date. It's so smooth that I usually lose the tonic when I have it. I must say, though, that it isn't for everyone...the intense juniper really clashes with some people.
