Georgia Tech "stunned" Wake Forest in Atlanta today. Iman Shumpert hit a cross-over jumper with 1 second left to give the Jackets a 2 point win. This was also GT's first win in the ACC. This is why I just friggin' love college basketball. Upsets can happen anyday to any team. B) |

The 'great' MICH ST team has lost home games to NW and PENN ST. They have been the consensus top team in the BT all year. Please stop saying the BT is strong and college basketball as a whole isn't down this year. |

This is what January is all about. The great thing is it continues in February and gets even crazier in March. UNC has lost to BC and Wake, Wake lost to GT, Texas lost at home to K-State, UConn lost at home to Georgetown, Gtown has now lost to three straight unranked teams. It goes on and on and on.... |

The BT is strong this year, and college basketball is pretty damn good too. |

Competitive yes, good no. Quality of play is down. Duke is marginally better than Beilein's WVU teams from a few years ago and is built pretty much the same way. After the top 4-6 teams, there is a HUGE dropoff. The #9 team can't even beat NW or PENN ST on their home floor.......didn't they beat PENN ST by almost 40 last year? |

They got beat by PSU last year. And PSU is better this year. I'm not seeing this "huge" dropoff. Lots of good teams, and the ones at the top are very good. I don't see how last year was any better than this year. |

I totally agree, I don't know how people say college basketball as a whole is down its a marginal argument can not be proved and is all based on perception. The level of talent has gone up, 2 star recruits today could woop on 3 stars from 20 years ago just because of size and speed. It just does not make sense, I have followed college basketball religiously since i was about 10 and I believe teams change every year with new players and old ones leaving but no way is college basketball weaker as a whole. Just because the dukies are not as good as before? If you spread talent around the ncaa instead of concentrating them on specific teams it makes the league as a whole stronger because less talented players have to step up and many get a chance to become better through more experience and playing time. |

Didn't realize MSU was without Raymar Morgan. I'd say that was sort of an important part. |

Morgan also missed the NW game. Not much of an excuse for MSU though. Even without Morgan, their talent level and experience is vastly superior to both teams...not to mention both games were at home.

The box score I saw shows he played 18 minutes in the NW game but didn't start. He is averaging 16 minutes in the last 3 games he has played. He shoots less than 70 percent from the foul line. Lucas is much more important to MSU than Morgan. You can't blame a team's loss on one player(who isn't even their best player)not playing since for all you know his replacements played better than he would have.....especially when the guy's minutes have been cut in half recently and he hasn't exactly been playing well as of late. |

He's their second leading scorer and second leading rebounder and shoots 56% from the floor. I think he is pretty important to them. Without him, they have a 6 man rotation. |

on what.......7 shots per game. What does that tell you when their alleged 2nd best player is the 2nd leading scorer shooting 7 times per game and hits less than 70 percent from the line........MEDIOCRE. |
