Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I don't know why, but DC has been trying to start trouble for several weeks now. I don't know why, I guess he just likes to kick people when they are down. I still think he is a little nervous about IU for next year. Get your licks in now because it won't be near as easy next year and the following year will be one of the top 3 teams in the B10. I will honestly say, we will bounce back much faster than Turdue did during their dismal years.
Because I make a thread about the game between the two teams thats fans populate this site and how the game has been officially set? I'm not looking for trouble. I'm not scared or nervous or whatever you think I am.

I've heard this talk before. Banner #6 has been raised with every other top 10 recruiting class that IU has brought in over the past 15 years. Purdue bounced back in year 2 under Painter. Good luck.
I never once said banner #6 and I won't go out on any limb and make that kind of assessment. I have to see the team play first and see how they come together and play as a team before I can say they have the possibility to win banner #6. I do believe this, I think IU will get banner #6 before Purdue gets banner #1.

We will bounce back in year #2 under Crean. We may not make the NCAA, but perhaps we could be a bubble team. But at the very least, we will be a .500 team and make the NIT. I call that bouncing back from a dismal year this year. Painter had help. He was allowed to assemble his team before he became head coach. Crean didn't have that luxury. Plus you got an extra year from Carl Landry.
You called IU the deepest team in the league and possibly the country the other day, before you have even seen half the players play a game.

Allowed to assemble his team? He was given scraps from a decimated program with limited scholarships to fill.

Nothing better than predicting winning a championship before Purdue when you have an 0-8 team and Purdue has a top 15 team. Makes perfect, unbiased, logical sense.......
i will take rhode island winning banner #1 before turdue

You won't win it this year, next year or even the following year. I have no worries. I said that IU will be deep because they have at least 6 players this year contributing to a team that has competed in most games, not all, but most and has really improved a lot over the past 5 or so games. Take those 6 players, who has proven they can play, maybe not win but compete, on a D1 level with the 5 recruits and Rivers and they makes 12 interchangeable parts of pretty equal talent. Rivers by far will get the most minutes, but anyone of those players will contribute next year. He may not play all 12 in one game, but they will all see action depending on the opponent. I will say we will average 10 deep every game. I don't know of too many teams going 10 deep every game. So why won't we be the deepest team in the B10? I don't have to see any of those freshman play to know they can't be worse than the freshman class we have now.

Because other teams have better players now and are adding very good players also. IU isn't the only team in the B10 doing good things. Purdue, MSU, OSU, Minnesota, and Illinois will be more talented and deeper next year. Northwestern, UM, PSU, and UW will be right on par, but more experienced.

But you are an IU fan and optimistic, so I'm sure you won't look at the other teams, and just assume that what IU is doing is better.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

after discussing top 10 teams

once again dan kuntz fails
I remember that conversation...it wasn't about "top 10" teams. Actually, it ended with me saying Purdue will take their record and ranking and ND can have theirs. I may have even said something about you justifying ND's losses to make yourself feel better.

I pray to God that IU's new recruits aren't bad enough to be considered 'interchangable parts' with most of the current guys.

Evil's right on this, if IU's incoming recruits are at the same level as the players you have now, it's going to be another long season. The dropoff from bad to holy-shit-god-awfulness has caused a couple of IU's losses, but if all you can do next year is make the bad players deeper on the bench, that's not much of an improvement. I'd be hoping for an instant upgrade on every player on the team right now.

I am saying equal because the players coming back, with already 1 year of D1 experience, should be equal to our incoming recruits. I am saying that our incoming recruits are an upgrade and the experience the existing players are getting will be equal to them. That is all I will say on this because this isn't going anywhere and nobody on the Purdue side really cares. What happens on the court next year will be what matters. We will see how things turn out.

2nd round exits at Purdue are equal to Elite Eight losses for IU. Mediocrity at Purdue isn't something that's just regularly achieved, it's all part of the plan. YES WE CAN!

Cam Purdue is good, Painter is good, and your future is looking good, but I'm going to pull the card you guys used against IU fans last year: until you actually do something in the tournament, its all talk. You guys called out IU fans for being stoked about our team last year. Well unless Purdue makes it to at least the second weekend, this team is simply a good team, but nothing special. Also I believe by Crean's third season IU will be to where Purdue's at now, and I'd take that.

Being nationally ranked. Then preseason top 10. And now ranked in the top 15.

Considering where we came from, thats bouncing back and some.

What would you consider "bouncing back"?

Final Fours and Championships. I assume that's the goal for most teams in college basketball. But I guess at Purdue, being ranked will do.
