Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I guess verbatim you never said it was set in stone. But you did say and I quote, "And then it'll get a top 10 class in 2010."

Now, I don't follow Purdue recruiting that closely and I'm not going to look it up, but I believe you have 3 players commited for that class and I'm not even sure as of right now if you have another spot open.

Point is, at the time we had our 09 class ranked in the top ten you said that there were a lot of unsigned players and before it was all said and done, we wouldn't be a top 10. That I don't have a problem with. The problem happens when you say Purdue will have a top 10 class in '10. Pretty ridiculous considering I think you are ranked like 8th or 9th right now, and there's obviously more kids unsigned in that class than there are in the 09 class.

So, if you're going to be fair and objective and treat IU and Purdue the same, don't call your class a top 10. Thanks :)

Are you going to call your class a top 10 class? I've called them all what they are right now. I can admit they could fall, just like IU's could.

We have no spots open, but with transfers and possibly players leaving early, its possible that one opens up, and we're right in the hunt for another borderline top 100 guy in Donnie Hale (#105 I believe).

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I don't care what they are right now.

Listen carefully......

When the rankings came out we were a top 5 class and you didn't think that was fair due to everything I've already mentioned.

Well the rankings just came out and you're lower than we were at the time. And there's tons more of unsigned kids and you don't even have any open spots. So if you were going to say way back when that our class wasn't a top 5 class, you sure as hell can't say Purdue has a top 10 class coming in, correct?

I'm sorry that I forgot to put that we are currently in the top 10 and could possibly fall out. I will promise to never do it again sir.

I'll be ready for you to get on the next IU poster that calls your class a top 10 class.

Wait a second, did you just admit that you were wrong? Holy shit!

This should be a HOF thread now! :)

And I'm not going to do that, because, we probably will be a top 10 team or at least arguably. But using your logic, there is no chance, with the current circumstances, that PU will be a top 10 this time next year!

Using my logic, IU won't be a top 10 recruiting class. We'll see when the final rankings get released and all the commits end up where they are going.

There is a way that Purdue will be a top 10 class. I think we'll be 12-15 because we only have 3 players, but depending on how the individual rankings change, we could move up.

I realize that, but there aren't THAT many players still undecided unlike the '10 class. My whole argument has nothing to do with being a top 10 class though, in case you didn't get that. It had to do with where each respective school was early on in the process and your viewpoints about each.

Is this the part of the conversation where I feel like you'll never understand what I'm trying to say and get frustrated to no end until I eventually give up?

I get what you are trying to say. And I get what you are trying to do.

I was saying IU wasn't going to be top 5 because of the amount of 5* guys left uncommitted. There actually aren't that many left uncommitted right now for 2010. Only 11. The picture for IU not being in the top 5 was much clearer at the time than it is for Purdue not being in the top 10.

When I made that claim, it was evident which teams were going to move above IU. Texas was on the cusp of signing two top 10 kids, GT all but had Favors locked up, Nova all but had Cheek locked up, either Kansas or Memphis was going to get Henry, and Boynton was locked into Duke or Florida.

There are so many 2010 kids that have so many school options that its impossible to tell which schools are going to move up.

:P

That all makes sense, except for the part where you said you know what I'm trying to do. I'm just sticking up for IU!

The only thing is, if PU doesn't have a spot open then there is virtually no way they're going to move up unless those 3 light the world on fire. If a spot opens up that could change. But it's hard to predict they'll move up on hypothetical info that may never come to fruition.

I know you are sticking up for IU.

We could oversign :P

T. Johnson and Carroll have done their best to light the world on fire, even though that is exaggerating what it takes to move up.

That is true, I'd be pretty damn pissed if we went that route.

I'd probably go with the Purdue half of IUPUI.

The other Assembly Hall?
Yes.

There's one in Champaigne too.
I am aware of the one for UI but there is truly only one Assembly Hall
