Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

NLA's speciality was complaining about Repubs not wanting to talk about the issues, and then posting unconfirmed shit about Palin. He's also excellent at not answering any question without using liberal talking points.

For example, he insists that Iraq was all about oil, but hasn't provided any details.

And he bristled when I said he agrees with The Messiah about everything, yet he couldn't list a single point of disageement.

What a suprise that you think his first 2 weeks have been horrible. I think they've been pretty good. Especially with the news of capping salaries for those CEOs who run companies that receive bailout help.

NLA,

Is a good guy just not as hardcore about politics as some of us. He will be around and I think he really means well just a little confused.

Pretty good? The caps are great (note the loopholes he left - they can still get bonuses - their salaries will be capped........the boards can override and still give "bonuses") but the cabinet picks are tax evaders and he is trying to shove the "stimulus package" down our throats. His answer to everything is "we won".........he is arrogant, doesnt listen to public opinion, and so far is Pelosi's puppet.................you defending him dreach, frankly, is no real surprise. I'm guessing you agree with the stimulus plan he has laid out?

Pretty good? Really? Must be all the transperancy and change that has you so enamored.

Obama is a show pony...........nothing else. The quicker you realize it, the less disappointed you will be later.

I don't know nearly enough about economics to be able to forcast how the stimulus package is going to effect things. Wasn't McCain pushing the same bailout? Anyone know the specific differences between McCain's proposed bailout and Obama's?

He's taken the application restrictions off of SCHIP, closing Gitmo, froze salaries for White House emplyees making over 100k/year, is the first President to enforce the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (which was passed over 30 years ago) and more. So yes, I have been happy with his first couple weeks in office.

No. McCain is fighting this welfare stimulus plan...........

The specific differences are vast..........no frisbee golf course, 50 million to the endowment of the arts, etc.
You should do some research instead of blindly backing Obama, you are starting to sound like NLA. Even some Dems are against his proposal..........even has some left wing media calling him out........where have you been? Watching msnbc, I guess?

Closing Gitmo..........where will these prisoners go? Is it really a good thing to close Gitmo before you have ANY plans on what to do with the people? You claim it is good..........where do you get that insight? I know, you just wanted change. Doesn't matter if it works, as long as it is change.

Lobbyist, tax evaders, etc.............that is some awesome "hope and change"..........quit being so blind. Do you really not give a fuck where your tax dollars go?

FYI, the "financial bailout" and the "stimulus plan" are 2 TOTALLY seperate things! Which bail-out are you refering to?

The 1.3 trillion (after interest) stimulus is not the same thing as the financial bailout...........they want you to think that.........it is OVER AND ABOVE.........your kids WILL be in debt up to their eyeballs before they are even born.......

NLA is waiting for me to forget that I asked him some specific questions about some of his posts.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I've already stated that I don't know enough about the stimulus plan to comment on so I'm not sure why you keep saying I am "blindly backing Obama". I'm not backing him, or chastising him.

Frisbee golf is a great great game. Don't insult it again.

Watching MSNBC? Newsflash, I live in Mexico. I don't have cable and therefor have no American channels.

I believe closing Gitmo is good because we were unlawfully holding people with no plan for them. Completely Un-American in my view. Where do they go? Bring them to the US and charge them or set them free.

Quit throwing around the "hope and change" slogan. It's seriously old.

I actually liked hearing a sitting President say "I screwed up." A President that admits mistakes, what a concept. How long did it take Bush too admit he did ANYTHING wrong ?

I'm not naive enough to think this will continue with every mistake he makes, but it's nice to hear once in a while. I don't want a President to be perfect, just be straight once every now and then.

It does say something about the administration that these nominees weren't vetted any better than they were. This kind of thing should be rare.

oh Bob...I just vomited in my mouth a little bit. I also would like for a president to genuinely admit to a mistake, however in this case, he only admitted "it was a mistake" after Daschle withdrew himself.....A FEW FUCKING HOURS after Obama had said that he "absolutely" was behind Daschle.

If Obama was genuine, he would remove Geitner...it's that simple. Anything else is just apologist rhetoric....PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR IT!

Yeah, there is a pattern with Obama though. He waits until he's caught then he apologizes. Wright, Ayres, etc..

I hear you aaron and I'm not falling for it. I voted McCain.

I' m not leaping to any conclusions. It is what it is. He admitted he messed up and I like to hear a politician say that, as you said you did.

As for Daschle, the administration knew they screwed up and probably asked for him to withdraw, let him try to save a little face. I don't understand how Geitner is still in.
